We hadn't been to Hubcaps Pizza Bar & Grill for awhile and we were in the neighborhood, so we stopped by on a Wednesday night. Little did we know that on Wednesday, there is a jitterbug (dance) club that meets there with a DJ. The center of Hub Caps becomes a dance floor. We sat at the bar for dinner, since we didn't have our dancing shoes with us. The owner and the staff were really friendly and efficient. We ordered a full slab of ribs which came with cole slaw. Full slab does misrepresent the slab - it is HUGE! We also ordered the meatloaf dinner with mushrooms and mashed potatoes and there was a very tasty gravy on top. There is a lot of 50's memorabilia and it is definitely a throwback, but a lot of fun. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable!

Members of the Windy City Jitterbug Club plus other folks who enjoy dancing or watching others dance will have a great evening. The crowd is mostly 60 and older but have the energy of 20 somethings. The DJ plays a variety of music. The night we attended it was fox trots, swing, and a general mix. Though we had read rave reviews about the pizza and food, we, unfortunately, cannot agree. The pizza was lame, much like frozen boxed pizza you might buy for your grandkids. The atmosphere is retro, cute, but be mindful the dance floor appeared to be small ceramic tiles. It did not seem to hinder anyone from kicking up their heels.
Very welcoming crowd and staff.

Had great service and excellent food. Staff and owner were very pleasant and this place has great history. We ordered pizza and burgers. Burgers were cooked to perfection and thin crust pizza, although not the Chicago norm, was great! A dinner with old world taste is a sure revisit. We will be back! Thanks.

Went there for a surprise Birthday Party for a family member. Very cute retro themed diner. Just the right size for the group we had. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff. We ate from a buffet of italian sausage, thin crust pizza, rotini and chicken tenders. Everything was very good. I would go back if in the area.

Came across this on trip advisor and decided to give it a try. It is a hidden gem off the main road. We got there for a little over $4.00 using uber. Very cute 50's style decor and super sweet older lady who I think is probably the owner? Super friendly, family type staff who even tried to help us out with directions to the train. We each had different types of burgers. Go hungry because they are huge! The fries were different then any I have ever tasted. They were yummy! They serve alcohol as well although we stuck with soda (they use cans and not fountain). Fun atmosphere and pretty reasonable on prices. Definitely worth a visit!
