Our first time to Via Roma was to celebrate a special birthday. The space is small and cozy at about 1300 square feet. Reservations are not accepted so we got there early (5:00 on Saturday evening) and were glad we did. We were greeted warmly by the owner and seated right away in the front section of the restaurant. By the time we left about 1 1/2 hours later, the place was absolutely packed, and there were quite a few people at the front door waiting for tables right where we were eating - which was a little awkward.
We had the mahi-mahi griglia from the regular menu and specials including beefneck bones with pasta, risotto la selva, and chicken prosciutto mozzarella. We enthusiastically recommend all of these dishes! BYOB is a plus and no corkage fee either. The overall service was very prompt and friendly.
When we arrived, I had mentioned to the owner that we were there for my dad's 90th birthday. When we ordered dessert (pistachio gelato), they topped it off with a birthday candle for him. A nice gesture.
The owners have mastered the art of great food and providing an exceptional customer experience. No wonder people were streaming in. We will be back for sure.
