Description: For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year! Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 50 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan. Our deep dish pizzas are loaded with so many toppings that we have cook them for nearly an hour. That’s also the reason we have to put the sauce on top; if we didn’t, the cheese would burn! But trust us, it’s worth the wait. We promise. Ask the people that agree that we are the best deep dish pizza in Chicago. Not sure what to order? Try one of our signature pizzas! The Meaty Legend is a carnivore’s dream, with pounds of pepperoni, special-recipe Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, and crispy bacon. The Chicago Fire is perfect for spice-lovers, with a layer of extra spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, and jalapeno. Not a meat eater? Try our signature spinach pizza with a blend of fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese. And for the purist, we offer our patty sausage pizza, with a thick layer of our signature sausage covering the entire pie so you get tasty sausage in every bite!

I recommend making reservations and either putting in your deep dish order early or getting an appetizer to tide you over. We got there around 5pm and it was just in time, because shortly after, Gino's was packed.
The mozzarella sticks were hand breaded and sooo delicious. Probably the best appetizer I've had in a long time. The pizza for two was just the right size. There were two slices for each of us and we didn't take anything home.

If you're going for the deep dish (and let's be honest, who isn't?!), be prepared to wait. Takes a while for the pizza pie to cook. Up to 45 mins, and that's after you get seated, which might also involve a wait. The décor is mainly graffiti, and the place is busy. My group of picky eaters liked Gino's pizza better than Giordano's and Lou Malnati's...Shhhh!

I’ve never in my life written a bad review this place was disgusting and we were overcharged once leaving a 15% tip that the lady added herself to our check!!! We sat at a filthy sticky table no water or service for 20 minutes!!! Do NOT go here for Italian food it is well below average! Yuck!! @ginoeast. #ginoeast

Being looking forward to trying Chicago famous deep dish pizza. Our son took us there. Salad was standard and pizza was a BIG disappointment. Pizza dough was not the regular dough. The color is beige (don't know what ingredients they put) and sausage was pressed in a flat piece (not crumbled). The water (clear color) came out when server cut the pizza for us. Anyway, very disappointed. Don't understand why it is so famous.
