Description: Girl & the Goat has been serving fun foods, craft beers, and making wine in a rustic and kick-butt environment since summer 2010. The restaurant opens at 4:30 every day, and stays open until 11pm on weeknights and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays (until those last late night eaters scrape their fork across the plate for the last time, or finish licking their plates until they're shiny and clean). The Goat's menu is divided into three categories: Vegetable, Fish, and of course Meat--while vegetable, fish, or meat are respectively the main stars of their categories, there are crossovers in each area so you'll get a little bit of everything. Bread is baked daily, and there are always new creations on the menu. Girl & the Goat sits in the West Loop smack dab in the Randolph Restaurant Corridor, but the location is still gritty enough to appeal to the chef’s integrity. The Goat has a variety of seating choices, including a comfortable lounge, bar seats, standard table seating, and four seats close enough to the kitchen line that you might be asked to help.Girl & the Goat blended their own wine, and it's tasty. There are beers on tap from Three Floyd’s and a couple others. If you're lucky, you might come across the elusive collaboration beers that Stephanie personally crafted with a couple of beer buddy cohorts. In addition to tap beers, there's also a bunch of bottles to choose from. Girl & the Goat is open 7 days a week, because The Goat is a tireless beast, and besides, who needs rest anyway? Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don’t like to plan.

Our experience at Girl & The Goat was divine. Every dish was perfectly prepared and the service was top notch. This was more than a dinner, it was a true culinary experience. Also, if you can request the Chef’s table - do so! Completely worth it!!

I made a reservation a week before and could only get a 9:45 pm one which I quickly took. It was worth waiting that late at night. The pork shank and duck tongues were amazing. I have no clue what flavors they used but it was just perfect. I dont recommend the bread as it tasted boring. It needed more of a crust and yeast flavor to me. Otherwise, the food was excellent.

I haven’t been this excited to get to a restaurant since Cindy’s Rooftop! We walked from an early show at the Oriental to hope for a chance to eat here. Arriving just before 5 PM we were seated with the knowledge that there was a 6:30 PM reservation for the table. I was happy to know that and grateful for the chance to dine here. It’s a gorgeous venue. It isn’t as loud as you think it would be. Loved the selection of music playing. The bar is so captivating, choose to be the one that faces it if you can. Now the food!
At first glance I wasn’t sure were going to find a dish we would like. However on second read through we chose the dishes we thought we would enjoy and were delighted with each one! It’s a pricey place. On my budget this is a special occasion destination and I can’t wait for a special occasion!
We enjoyed the blueberry sourdough, the beet salad, (outstanding) the crab cakes, halibut and pork were all fantastic!
We passed on dessert and just had water.

We had dinner here as a group of 9 before going to Hamilton. It was very busy and had a great atmosphere (although a bit loud). We enjoyed the model of sharing many small plates. Food was overall great especially the Brussels sprouts, pork shank, halibut, and lemon pound cake. The lamb ribs were a little fatty and greasy but great flavor. Be sure to check their website (not google or other sites) for the current menu as it changes often. The service was outstanding as well. He even gave us two extra desserts for free.

Their grilled cheese is to die for. I love the casual concept, but with phenomenal gourmet food. Perfect for a late spot classy dinner.
