This was one of the highlights of our vacation last year! We saw the Starlight's Production of Guys and Dolls and we had a blast. Professional actors, excellent stage set, lighting and sound. This was a top notch performance by all! We will definitely be back.
Accommodations were good, actors were great & snacks were reasonably priced! Only downside was driving back to Boise afterwards
My mom, sister, my two kids (both under 6 years old), and I went to see Beauty and the Beast. The play was really good, funny, and kid friendly. Sold out, so they added an extra two rows of chairs in front of us. It didn't start on time and the intermission was pretty long too cause it got over crowded trying to get food or drinks. The cast had food and drinks they were walking around with like you would get at a baseball game. The mosquitoes were really bad so make sure to bring bug spray! It was a little too long for my one year old, but we would go again!
We've been attending Starlight Mountain Theater for many years. It's always a fun evening. Young local actors are fun and engage the audience in this scenic mountain setting. We always enjoy their rendition of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, which they perform each season. However, Beauty and the Beast may be their best effort yet. The staff really stepped it up with costumes, especially the "inanimate objects." Be Our Guest and Kill the Beast were particularly enjoyable!
This isn't Broadway, folks. It's an open air theater in the mountains. You will be taking your chances with weather and mosquitoes, so come prepared.
All seats are good in this small theater. Affordable, too!
I was able to go to a show at this tiny theatre back in September 2015 with my best friend that lives in Idaho. We were up there doing some photography of Stanley and she decided we should do the dinner and show here. The dinner was awesome. They serve dinner outside on picnic tables right outside the theatre. The kids that are in the show do the serving and they are so nice. The area this place is in is absolutely stunning. You couldn't ask for a better back drop. The theatre itself is just a wooden theatre, very small and intimate. The wind did pick up as the night went on but that did not take away from the awesome performance of the actors. I really enjoyed it. After the show they all stood outside in a row and you could meet them or shake their hands. I would definitely do this again if I ever make it back up that way again. It is a must if you are in the area on vacation, a local or just someone passing through.
Our evening began with comfort food served outdoors where we're surrounded by mountains and evergreen trees. Thoughtful caterers make a special dish for one of our guests who is glutton intolerant. This cold night, our group all enjoyed the delightful, rollicking play, Sugar (AKA Some Like It Hot, Marilyn Monroe) in an outdoor theater setting. Acting is professional, costumes are charming and fun. September nights are cold; blankets, coats, hats are needed. Mosquitoes are thick, so repellant is recommended. It is rare for shows to cancel due to weather. Reduced ticket prices for all productions are available week days. Prices vary according to seating areas. Single chairs are comfortable. There's a variety of shows during this outdoor theater's season. Only one cell phone carrier is available in Garden Valley.
