Owner description: President Franklin D. Roosevelt built his "Little White House" in Warm Springs, Georgia, in 1932 while serving as governor of New York.

We stopped by here on our way to spend the weekend at FDR State Park. There is a very nice new museum with lots of artifacts and information about FDR and his time in warm Springs Georgia. They showed a short film in the theater which was a good orientation before exploring the museum, the grounds and the house. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. I’m glad we stopped by and would recommend this place to everyone.

Beautiful place which starts with an informative museum, then leads outside to lovely, peaceful, surroundings before heading into the small, sweet house itself. As non-Americans it gave us a real insight to President Roosevelt who seemed to be a down to earth, sweet man. A very enjoyable morning. Entrance cost was $12 each. We then left and drove further through the town to the historic pools museum which is included in the Little White House entrance fee (make sure you take and show your receipt).

We did a day trip to Warm Springs to see the little White House. There is a museum with lots of artifacts video clips, time line and a movie. They have the original car FDR had modified for him to drive with his hands. You then walk over to the little White House. The House is left the way it was when he died there. You can view all the rooms. The park service rangers are very well informed and answered every question we had plus adding additional information. You then see last building which is new and contains more artifacts leading you into the gift store.
From the Little White House it's a short drive to the Historic Pools where FDR swam every day to "cure" his polio. The ticket you bought for the Little White House get you admission to the pools.

A glimpse into what Presidential retreats looked like in the 1930s. Not flashy but beautifully maintained with informative guides.
