Let's start with the service. She was nice, but moved slow as molasses. The room was disgusting. Mold (mildew turning to mold) in the shower with a feeble attempt at cover up. The Wi-Fi was slow. The TV had "no signal" on it, even after a reboot. The king bed was the worst part of the room. It was SO dipped in, I actually rolled from one corner to the center and had a terrible back ache in the morning. The walls were so paper thin, I could hear the people next door thru half the night. Ah and there was a description of an ergonomic desk and comfy chair...wait till you see the pics! Not quite that in any way at all.
Let's move on to safety. There were very sketchy-looking people sleeping in their parked cars. Smell of weed permeated the air. And literally, there was a woman right outside my door throwing up God knows what after she smoked or was potentially drugged up, saying "oh Lord, oh Lord." I had to check on my car a few times at night to make sure no one was gonna break in.
I actually had a reservation at another Quality Inn for nine nights after this stay and went to cancel - missed the deadline by a few hours to cancel - but talked to the customer service people who could not do anything for me. I got the runaround to call the hotel directly. When I spoke to the manager, Jen, at the hotel in St. Pete's, she was rude and curt. I explained I had been trying to call since the previous day and she gave me a really hard time. She eventually did cancel 8 of my 9 nights for me, but basically reprimanded me like a child for not being able to make the cancellation deadline on time. I tried to explain the reasons for the delay, and she was unwilling to care or listen.
I will NEVER, EVER stay at one of these hotels again. Terrible service, accommodations and just plain horrible hotels (if you can even call them that).
