traveling through, for 1 night, adequate

Definitely a budget minded hotel. The stay was ok. Our room we booked was the kitchen suite room and was large. It had a bit of a musty smell. Bed was a bit uncomfortable, but I was tired and was able to sleep fine. Needed a blanket though, it was a cool Georgia night. We left shortly after we ate breakfast to get back on the road. Continental breakfast = just OK.

Room Tip: Heard kids crying at 1:00 am in the room above us. Thin ceilings/floors

Some reviews of this hotel made me hesitate to book a room, but the convenient location had me taking a chance. This facility is a nice stay for the money. It's a little beat up - marks on walls, faded carpets, but the breakfast was absolutely fine - you could have waffles, biscuits and gravy and a nice selection of yogurts, breads and juices, in a clean, roomy eating area which is more than I was expecting. We were checked in by a very sweet, friendly lady and had the pleasure of seeing her again for check out. We experienced no excessive noise, had comfy beds and hot showers and were back on the freeway in minutes - what else do you need??

I selected this property for the price and got what I paid for. The room was not bad, but it just felt dingy. There was a strip of the vinyl baseboard missing in the bathroom and my husband killed a bug on the nightstand. The bed sheets were soft and looked and felt clean. When the desk clerk asked about our stay, my husband told her and she said they were inspecting the guest rooms and getting ready to remodel. Breakfast was very limited. We asked for a banana and were told they were too green. We went somewhere else to eat.

Dear Guest,

I sincerely apologize that you were not completely satisfied with your stay. We are getting ready to paint and update our rooms. As an economy hotel our breakfast far exceeds our requirements. Again I apologize that the banana's were green.

I hope you have a great day!

Regards,
Cindy

We booked one free night with our points. The young lady who checked us in was nice. The room was run down...holes in the cushion of the sleeper sofa, paint worn on walls, bed spread and sheets worn because of age and stains on ironing board surface. The small table was wedged in the corner next to the air conditioner...you had to pull the table out to get one of the chairs around the air unit. The positive part was it was clean, the tv and flooring looked newer. I looked online to see what the normal price would have been and it was $70 with fees...I would have never paid that for the quality of our room.

Room tip: We needed a king bed for my tall husband and didn't know all their king bed rooms were wheelchair accessible.

By the time I got to Valdosta, I was exhausted. Traveling solo with a small dog, I was looking for any place that would accept pets. After pulling into a parking lot to review my options, I called the Econo Lodge. The gentleman who answered was very helpful and gave me directions. He told me there were two motels that shared a driveway so I should be careful to look for the Econo Lodge. Well, tired as I was I ended up at the Sleep Inn, only discovering my error when someone mentioned the name of the motel at the registration desk.

Back in the car, across the parking lot to check in. Mr. Kennedy was very kind and had already gone up to turn on the a/c and lights in my room. The room was clean and well lit and provided us with a great night's rest. The only complaint was the condition of the driveway -- a huge pothole was in the middle.

Breakfast was offered, but I didn't take advantage of it as I was eager to get on the road to our final destination.

We were fleeing Florida because of the hurricane that was forecasted to hit along the coast. At the time Dorian was predicted to be a category 4/5 storm which was currently devastating the Bahamas. The Econo Lodge was our Port in the Storm for three nights while we waited to see what would happen. The staff was very friendly and made us feel like family. The facilities were fine and the breakfasts were adequate. The location was awesome with many restaurant choices and activities nearby.
