It is impossible to overstate the value of the Drury Inn/Drury Plaza hotels. I hadn't stayed at one for probably about 18-20 years, and can't say it was memorable. However, it's obvious that the company is striving to be a player in the budget-midrange hotel space, and we've now stayed at four this summer. The Inn in Valdosta is a perfect example of location, value and amenities, all of which are now obvious priorities with ownership/management. The Valdosta Inn is, like every other one, clean, comfortable, inexpensive and an incredible value for your travel dollar. Complimentary hot breakfast, and daily "kick back" happy hour which includes three adult beverages (beer, wine or mixed drinks) for each adult is accompanied by a food spread that you can easily make your dinner. The evening we were there, pulled pork was the featured item, and it was delicious, similar to the same meal we had at the Nashville Downtown property. And that is the key about Drury-consistency. They're all clean, comfortable and value priced, with the same amenities (this one didn't have an in hotel bar/restaurant, which many do, but we didn't miss it). The rooms and bathrooms are all similarly decorated and furnished. If you're looking for a good place to stop and rest coming or going to south Florida, this hotel is ideally located. We chose to break up our last travel day, and went from Valdosta to the Drury Plaza in Disney Springs. The reviews aren't lying; these are great hotels for families who are traveling, especially if you're traveling on a budget.
