Drury Inn & Suites Valdosta, GA The staff was awesome and this was the best value we have had in a long time. The room was clean, pool was great and I would stay there again. We did not eat the nightly buffet, but we did have the morning buffet that was great.
The hotel was clean and comfortable in general. The food was adequate, but nothing special. They do have some light meals/snacks plus 2 alcoholic drinks per person between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. They also have popcorn, coffee and water in the lobby most of the time. Staff was pleasant. The DOGS, however, are everywhere! They were barking at each other to the point that it was very annoying. They were in the lobby, dining room and elevators. Upon speaking with the front desk about their policy that dogs are not allowed in the hotel's public places, I was informed that the exception is if the dog is a service dog, about which, staff is not allowed to inquire. As such, apparently every dog at the hotel is considered a service dog by its owners. I do not agree with this policy because it's dangerous. Although I like dogs, and have owned many over the years, I love my grandson more who is highly allergic to dogs, to the point that we have to carry an epi pen in case a dog even touches him. If "service" dogs are to be allowed and presumed to be honestly characterized as such by their owners, then separate arrangements need to made to separate them from the general public who may be harmed by them. This is the second stay at a Drury Inn where all public areas had numerous dogs present. I understand the love for our fur babies. However, our love for the physical well-being of humans should take priority. As such, if you or a family member has any allergies to dogs, I recommend that you stay away from lodging at Drury Inns.
The staff was friendly and helpful, our room was very clean and comfortable, and the location is convenient to the interstate without being right on top of it. Noise was not an issue.
The Kickback service was so nice and did I mention it’s included in your stay, as is breakfast!! The staff working there was on top of things and seemed proud of what they do…a friendly bunch of guys. Breakfast was nice with several choices to pick from. And again the staff was always checking to be sure all the dishes were plentiful and fresh for their guests.
We had a very positive experience and felt like it was a great value!
modern hotel with up to date decorating, all of which is kept clean. We did not use the exercise equipment or pool so i can't comment on that. What really makes it stand out is the 5:30 "kickback", a very casual supper event from 5:30 to 7:00 each evening with a different menu each day. Like I said, casual, in the area used for breakfast in the morning. All the necessary food groups are covered, salad , meat, fruit, etc. It's hard to criticize all this but, it sure would be great if they could add a yogurt machine with two or three toppings. Probably asking too much.
We had never stayed at a Drury Inn before and this was a very nice surprise. The room had a small fridge and microwave and was clean. What set it apart was their 5:30 PM Kickback service. A hot meal and three free drinks! We had planned to go over to Olive Garden for dinner but the Drury meal was more than adequate for us. Our room had a walk-in shower, fridge and microwave. This was a "first impression" and I have to say it was a great one. Drury will be our "go to" place from now on.
