Comfy bed and charming room decor in a pretty setting just outside the congestion of Helen. Paid extra for the “ touch of romance” weekend package for my husband’s birthday weekend. Not altogether what we had hoped.

Porch light shined into room, keeping us up all night. After the first light the manager put in somewhat better curtains. But he was unable to turn off lights keeping our room perpetually seeming like dawn. Described as a bed and breakfast on website but breakfast only served 9-10am on Sat and Sunday. Coffee was amazing by the way, and staff member serving breakfast very nice, but breakfast itself left a bit to be desired.

Bed linens soft, but pillows uncomfortable. Not particularly generous with towels, but good shower pressure!

Lovely outdoor area to drink wine and relax, quiet and peaceful. But we are so bleary eyed due to being unable to sleep because of the bright lights lighting up our room probably needed much more wine!!
Also, they ask $50 per hour for late check out.

Overall for the price, not sure I would try this location again. It is quite pretty and could be really wonderful with a little TLC. Recently purchased by new owners in March. Feels like in a transition period. I am sure COVID makes it challenging. I will say our room and the property was clean, and renovations are under way. I do wish these folks all the best, and recommend investing in some heavy duty light blocking curtains for the porch door and windows if lights must stay on. Would have made all the difference!

Fantastic GA winery, under new owbership, a hidden gem! A must visit place when you are in North Georgia.

Look for AJ, you will learn a lot about their products and wine in general. From best soil for grapes to wine pairing, he got it all!

Enjoy!!!

My husband and I stayed at Sylvan Valley Lodge for one night as an anniversary getaway. We were very happy with the staff being willing to work with us to make sure we had the room we wanted. We previously stayed at this inn and were happy to return. We really enjoyed the wine tasting and bought a bottle of Rose to take home. The balcony and great room were very comfortable and enjoyable. The atmosphere was very welcoming.

This was a wonderful first weekend getaway since sheltering in place for covid. The room was welcoming, the atmosphere was inviting, and the staff were friendly. We ate the breakfast that is offered on weekends, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The server was polite, and knowledgeable. The food was fresh, hot, and flavorful. Just an all around pleasant stay.
