We took my aunt here to celebrate her birthday. The decor was beautiful and the staff were welcoming and very efficient. The menu was extensive and the food was delicious and prices were reasonable. The toilets were spotless. We will definitely be back.

I occasionally treat myself to the full breakfast here - and it is very substantial, so don't plan on eating much later in the day. The food is of good quality and the staff are friendly and efficient. Once or twice the sausages have been a little tough which I think is because they have been sitting around for a while, but this hasn't happened recently. I am comfortable going here on my own and as breakfast is served up until 1200 it's good for a late brunch before the lunchtime rush. Easy parking and a nice terrace to sit outside if the weather permits.

The Buzzworks group has a number of restaurants in Scotland, divided into types. Three have the -house suffix, Treehouse, Longhouse and Millhouse. Restaurants from each group have similar but not identical menus. The fact that they are all a little different is a plus in my view. The Longhouse is more pub like and can be a little claustrophobic when busy, whilst the Millhouse is more spacious with much more room between the tables.

The menu is quite extensive with plenty of choice and there are also some specials. We had the Scottish platter for two plus couple of garlic bread portions as a starter for 3, and size wise it was more than adequate. The haggis in batter was a touch greasy, but very tasty, the black pudding bonbons were delicious as was the tempura chicken. The chicken liver pâté was excellent the king prawns were OK but the garlic bread was above average.

For mains we had excellent fish with crisp batter and good well-made chips, dry and crisp on the outside and soft inside. The macaroni cheese with bacon added. This was well flavoured well cooked and a massive portion and burger and chips. Both the beef burger and the roll were above average.

For desert we had the excellent sticky toffee pudding, served with a jug of butterscotch sauce and ice-cream, the mini mess, which you can see from the photo was anything but mini! Also a very generous cheese platter. Even the coffee was good quality.

Service was excellent throughout and the restaurant has ambiance to spare. We picked up easily that many of the customers are regulars, and I for one don't blame them. This is well worth a visit and at around £100 for 3 for three courses drinks and coffee is good value.

We are regulars to the Millhouse. We came here yesterday evening after a day at the Scottish Grand National and had a lovely meal. The venue was lovely, as usual, we got a lovely both in the lower part of the restaurant and had great service, staff are always friendly and helpful. A lovely end to a fantastic day!
