This resataurant set just in a lovely old Masia just otside the walls of the historic & genuine walled village of Palau Sator goes from strength to strengh.
It's a couple of years since we last visited but it's still run (very well!) by the same family with well trained staff, excellent service & now extended outdoor dining with a new courtyard round the back as well as the large garden out front with a playground for small children.
The food & wine are as good as we remember with many traditional Catalan dishes, all nicely cooked & prepared & a good but sensibly priced wine list.
An excellent choice for either lunch or dinner on a sunny & warm summer day or inside the farmhouse itlelf on cooler/wetter days in one of the multiple didning rooms.
We woule thoroughly recommend this restauarnt for large groups or families with younger children. They even have a special menu for young kids. We wouldn't recommend any specif dish as theer is such a large range of both traditiional & specialist Catalan food, all really well cooked, that it depends entirely on what you fancy for the day! Our party this year loved everything from the snails through to the genuine Irish Coffees (served with proper cream for a change!).
Need to book, particularly at the height of the season.

A traditional place in a very charateristic village. The plates are typical of Spain and the flavours taste as if they are all homemade and realized with great care.

Very friendly family business. The place has numerous vaulted dining rooms, one bigger than the other.
We had some starters to share and then went for the braised lamb ribs , very tasty with no frills. Desserts again to share to try out their specialities such as the fresh cheese with honey.
Bill was extremely reasable for all the food we got.

A really beautiful setting on a balmy evening sitting in the garden if Mas Pou with family and friends. A very popular spot, booking ahead is advisable. A great menu with many local delights and all cooked to perfection. Seafood particularly well catered for. A good wine selection with a lot of local Emporda labels. We'll worth a visit. Also, kids menu is well thought out and in a great setting families are well looked after.

Went there every year, all ok.This time it reminded me of the food I got in boarding school. We ordered and 5 minutes later the starters were on the table. Then I wanted to have a smoke but the waiter had already the main course ready. My wife had ordered chicken but it came as a rabbit (ok this can happen). It was taken back and 3 minutes later the chicken appeared... It was as dry as desert sand. I ordered veal stew with mushrooms. The sauce was like in boarding school , cornstarched , no fries or patatoes and a microscope to find the mushrooms....
Asked if everything was ok by the MD I said no and explained him why.
His answer was that I was perfect and they were not......
Never we will go there again!
