Our family of four (two boys, ages 14 and 11) stayed on Carla and Bobby's Sailor's Dream sailboat in Yankeetown, Florida for only one night but wished our itinerary would have allowed us to stay for a week. The boat was very comfortable and allowed more than enough sleeping space for us. It included a bathroom, a fridge, a Blu-ray player, and even an amazing book written by the former owner of the ship who nearly lost it at sea. Carla was sweet and had the boat in great, very clean shape for our arrival.
The highlight of our stay was the sunset cruise, guided by Bobby. We headed out through the brackish backwaters on our way to the gulf, seeing alligators, herons, ospreys, and even manatees and dolphins along the way. Our destination was a tiny sandbar in the middle of the gulf, where we searched for shells and watched the sun sink down into the ocean. It was truly unforgettable.
Regrettably, we had to leave before sunrise the next morning and missed the daily visit by the resident dolphin but the memories of our short stay on the Sailor's Dream will last a lifetime. Thanks so much, Carla and Bobby!
