This location was not quite up to my expected Hampton standard. As a frequent business traveler I gravitate toward hotels that are clean, safe and hold no surprises.
This Hampton was clean and safe but full of (not good) surprises:
1) A $50/day “incidental” fee was added to the price (processed at check-in). The fee, less incidentals, would be refunded in 5-7 business days of check-out….according to the paper taped to the top of the check-in desk. That would look splendid on an expense report.
2) There was a $15/ day “self parking” fee. I had assumed that the fee was for non guests- nope. I have paid extra for parking at hotels in San Francisco and New York but not Talla(f-in)hassie.
3) Breakfast started at 7 AM, not 6 AM, like normal Hampton Inns.
The staff were professional and very friendly. The property was clean and reasonably well maintained but the BS extras will have this Hampton loyalist investing a bit of time to shop for my next hotel.
