I was given this hotel as a 2.5 star, comparing it with others I was familiar with in the area, on Hotwire. It is no where close.
The people at the desk are friendly and helpful. Note: The desk is not always open.
There is garbage strewn on the drive and parking area. The room has various kinds of hair in the bathroom - all over. Some liquid was spilled and dried on the table and chair. One light out of two works in the bathroom. The carpet - well, wear shoes for sure.
No lamps. There are only two overhead bulbs in the room. One quit the second day.
The dresser drawer fell out when I opened it... a wheel and rail absence. Half of the light switch plate is absent too.
Kitchen? Yes, but bring your own glass, fork, plate and saucepans. It is stripped.
Ironically, the room screams disinfectant. We opened the window in 30 degree weather in order to breathe. It was unrelenting.
Then we found out we did not have any heat. Brrrr! The next day the maintenance person came and completely replaced the unit in lightening speed. Good job, Pete! Such a pleasant guy.
I did not say anything about an exterminator, because there are plenty of little crawly things to know that no exterminator was recently used. Every day we had a new crop of "friends", AND every time we turned on a light too.
I realize that this modest alternative lacking amenities exists for a reason. It is just not 2.5 stars. AND it is NOT CLEAN.
I wish the photos could capture the scene. They simply do not.
To their credit, Hotwire and the hotel front desk person agreed to let us check out days early and to refund us all but one night. Thank you both.
