After the previous review, I had concerns and I spoke with Captain Mike and he addressed everything. The booking process was very easy. We did an eight hour excursion with Chris & Brian on the Lady S for a family of four. Because the weather was so rainy and windy, we moved to a better day which was definitely not as windy but certainly overcast and on the chilly side.
It was in the low 60’s when we left a little before 7 so we all rode inside the boat and ate our breakfast we brought along. After 1 ½ hours, we were at our first stop and immediately were catching fish. We were cold at first but once you start catching fish, you warm up very quickly. Catching fish is definitely a work-out. We fished until about 1 p.m. moving to about six different spots through-out the morning and it was time to head back. Our two boys went down below and took a nap on the way home. It was great having a bathroom on board too.
We caught red snapper (out of season), grouper, trigger fish, amber jack, and other various types of snapper in season, 130 pounds in total. Brian was great with our boys 14 and 10 and with helping us catch some nice sized fish.
When we arrived back to the marina, we had the marina clean the fish for us and package it and overnight it to us. It was $150 to be cleaned and prepared to ship and $130 to ship. It arrived frozen and we didn’t have to mess with trying to bring anything back with us on the plane. We also had them give us a five pound bag to take to a nearby restaurant where we did the Hook & Cook which our boys thought was terrific. We had a great experience with Captain Mike and would highly recommend.
