This hotel deserves more than 2 stars

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 25 May 2024via mobile
I don't know why this hotel is only rated 2 stars on Google. It is clean, close to downtown, and has a basic, very minimal breakfast available. Nothing fancy, but it works, and more importantly its CLEAN. The hotel is currently under construction, so no sleeping during the day due to the workers. Try to ask for one of the rooms at the end of the hall at the front of the hotel. They are newly remodeled and probably the bigger and best looking rooms. I can't speak for the older rooms, because I stayed in one of the remodeled ones. They need more luggage carts in the lobby. I was told they only have 2, but I only saw one. They also need the maids to return the luggage carts found on the floors, back to the lobby, so that customers don't have to go searching for them. The front desk ladies during check-in was very friendly, but the guy working during check-out was zoned out. Not rude, just not engaged. If I had to find one issue to complain about, it would be that the remodeled room seemed rushed, because there are scuffs on the new tile floor that need to be cleaned with paint thinner, goo gone, or scraped off. There was also left over caulking that wasnt cleaned off on the stand for the microwave were something was bolted down before, but removed. Workers didn't go the extra mile to clean up behind their remodel work.

Room Tip: $15 a day for parking, unlimited in and out. Basic minimal items for breakfast

This was our second time at this Hotel. The second proceedure for my husband at Orlando Medical Regional. Our second time, we had a scheldueling change. The Hotel was so gracious in helping with the situation. We traveled 2 hours and we sincerely appreciated the consideration the Hotel gave us. I highly reccomend Hampton Inn and would not stay anywhere else.

Check out day is March 3 at 11.00 am it is a standard time for all hotels chain in the world ,
And i knew that , I travel a lot more than 40 countries in the world and use to work for airlines and hospitality management

My issue was : tall latino untuck shirt with diamond earring

The housekeeping, should print the reports all in house guest , i m not sure what ‘s the sytem hilton used but Fidelio , Opera and OnQ , I am sure that in house guest check out report might be hand out to the housekeeping each day . Her name is Anna , she probably knocked on my door but i m in bathroom , when i came out , she opened my door and ask me do you want a service today ? It was 9.30 am , i was wonder , first she did not know ? I have to check out today ? Second the hotel won’t knock for room cleaning at 9.30 am , or only long stay like 2-7 days but mostly 11 am or later than that , i think housekeeping should check the report guest in house and check out carefully, if i am nude in the room or have some privacy situation? How can i do ? I feel terrible for this issue.

Second : I did call the front desk agent who was a guy who i check in and check out , i ask if i can get late check out because of i have gold member status , he said no all room is not available “which is lie statement and I hold my cellphone open Hilton app and about to extend one more night stay at the same room’ he is immediately reject and never try to help or explain anything or helpful at all , and I tell him that I will go down , I went down to talk to him “ sir why you lie to me you said that you don’t have anything any room available which is false and I talk to him as normal tone , and i ask what’s wrong with you , you were being rude to me when i was check in and now you were being rude again , his face got red and full of anger , his body shake full of anger , so i said it fine then I will leave and i will talk with your management by email , he shout at me “ go ahead “ he try to hide his identity by saying his name very fast and intend not to give me his name , and i ask him may i talk with your GM or Front desk manager , he said he is the only one in charge at hotel , the higher management is not here , probably it is sunday , but normally hospitality as hotel and big hotel chain should have manager on duty 7 days a week which made me confuse , i asked him can i get GM name card and others , he pointed out with his anger attitude “ over there!” We had an argument at the counter

after i walk out from front desk , he walked follow me at the back to the elevator then shout at me “Check out time at 11” i was so afraid of him , i thought he gonna hit me at behind , i ask him “ why u have to shout and emphasize and walk follow me about check out time and the time was 10.15 am , you can see from the security camera i did observe his behavior from yesterday and today , i think he treats other with smile and talk nice to other guest , and what did i do wrong ? may be he thought that I am poor asian and don’t know how to stay in hotel , he made me embarrassed in public area , and i got treat differently from others , and it is very discriminate why he choose to treat me like this.

So I went up to my room and pack all my stuffs without extend my stay , and i went down at 10.55 am very calm without saying anything to him and gave 2 keycards , and take an uber to airport , I and my friend will go to lawyer office and we will file discriminate case for this is issue against the front desk agent ,

I am sure that it is not the first time he did this to others guest , looking forward to talk to you soon , apologize for my writing, english is my second language.

We were there for 10 days because of a tragic event in our family. The hotel was perfect for us. Clean, comfortable, good food to start the long days. And Aaron at the front desk was WONDERFUL! He made sure our rates were correct each time we had to extend our stay and made us laugh.
Anna in the breakfast area made sure we ate good each morning and sent me off with a hug.
Definitely recommend this place!!

Room tip: If you have family in the hospital this is the place to stay.

Staff was very friendly and pleasant. Seemed to be very short staffed in lobby, but the line wasn't long, so no problems or long waits. The hotel is currently under renovation, so be aware of that if you are looking to rest during the day, you probably won't be able to.
The room had a weird, mildew or mold smell to it. Seemed like something in the room had been wet and hadn't dried all the way or old standing water. Couldn't tell what it was or if it was coming out of the AC and the filter needs to be changed.
Room wasn't dirty, but much was left to be done for cleaning underneath the bathroom sink, and floors, which wasnt mopped or sweeped by the obvious debris left unattended. Old seat in the room needs to be steam cleaned or thrown out due to stains. Maybe during these renovations they need to upgrade some of the furniture and tidy up a bit on the cleaning, but overall OK. I did not goto the breakfast, so can not commnet on what they have to offer, but it is free. Parking is $15 a day (in and out as you please) in a gated lot, as indicated on their website.

Room tip: Small parking lot, will get more crowded the later in the night, so if you come back to hotel late, parking might be unavailable. There is a Walgreens right across street

We were in town for a medical appointment and stayed overnight rather than drive home after a long procedure.

The hotel is an easy one block walk from ORMC which makes it a convenient place to stay and recover. We arrived before 1 pm; I asked about the possibility of an early checkin or parking the car so we could walk to the hospital for our appointment.

Bethany had a room for us then which allowed us to settle in and relax. Imagine my surprise when we got to our room and a personalized welcome message greeted us on the television screen. Shortly after, I got a text from Pedro asking if everything was fine in the room.

The hotel offers a “medical rate.” I called the reservation line to book our stay. Because we are HHonors members, the rate we were given was lower than the medical rate.

We stay frequently at Hampton Inns and I was pleased to see wall-mounted bathroom shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion. After years of seeing the tired Jergen’s brand, the Zero products were a welcomed chsnge. Wasted bars of soap has always concerned me; I was interested to learn from Bethany that the property participates in the “Clean the World” initiative headquartered in Orlando. Every month, hotel employees volunteer at this important program.

Our room was fine and everything in working order. We especially appreciated the bright lamps for easy reading. While the rooms do not have a microwave, one is available in the lobby convenience store.

However, the desk chair and tv stand/dresser are well worn and both in need of replacement. A posted April 2023 letter addresses the condition of the chairs hotel-wide which are scheduled to be replaced. Supply chain issues are involved.

We always enjoy the complimentary breakfast. I was disappointed in the quality of the bananas which were very overripe. The fresh fruit bowl did not look particularly fresh.

However, the breakfast attendant is delightful and came over to clear our table. We have stayed stay at Hampton Inns for years and no one has ever provided this kind and thoughtful service. I’m sorry I did not get her name.

It is always a pleasure to stay at this property.

Room tip: $15 per night parking fee. Key card required to get access to guest’s floor. Microwave available in lobby convenience store.
