This was our second stay at the Avanti int resort. I had messged reservation to ask for a room like we had the previous year and received a reply stating this had been noted and would try to accommodate but on arrival the front desk had no information and said the fault was on reservations team and the only room they had was upstairs which wasn’t helpful considering my husband had a injury to his back and leg so I messged reservations immidiatly and of course NO REPLY which is very unprofessional and rude !!
We visit Orlando pretty much every year and like to split our holidays to stay in verious hotels and with I-Deive being a good location with large choice of restaurants at our feet it’s an obvious choice . Most hotels other than those catering mostly for conferences are mainly 3* which always makes me feel a little wobbly but the Avanti is fairly new and fresh which is the reason for choice and returning.
We like the relaxed feel to the hotel layout, we can drive to and park outside our room, no need to walk far or through reception for anything , (parking is plentyful)
I know there have been review taking of the rooms not being clean but as soon as I walked in to the room I walked bare foot and the floors were lovely and clean as was the whole room. The one big issue we found this year was with the bathroom being tiny and of course wet once used we had no private space to dress because the vanity area had no door whereas the room on our last visit did - this needs to be addressed and sorted !!
The pool area is a really nice size with a play area if you have small children but umbrellas are only available on tables and not longers and towels are put out poolside a couple of times in the morning but after this they are impossible to get.
Our fridge seemed to have issues , it froze all our tubs of fruit, yougurts , milk etc ..
On check out I mentioned this to the reception staff and gave the proof but the guy behind the desk just kept saying “ok”
Did he not speak English, did he not care, was he a robot? I then asked if I oweed any fees etc and he replied”NO” but of course this wasn’t true and approx $118 was taken from my account without authority. I returned to the hotel because with the fridge damaging all our products and unable to use services these resort fees cover I wasnt happy but I spoke with a lovely member of staff who handled the situation very well.
I would still recommend this hotel for consideration because other than the issue we had it is a fair priced. nice hotel in a good location with free parking and resonance resort fees of approx $15 a day.
