We checked in on a Monday evening around 8pm and had to wait over 20minutes to get our room as they did not have a full kitchen one "with plates", when I said it would be ok for now they committed to delivering the plates the next day. Well that did not happen. After calling again we had 4 plates delivered, no bowls, when requested bowls we got 4 disposable (paper) bowls... these were never replenished... the coffee/insulated cups also were not replenished for 2 days and the plastic cups could not hold the coffee.... coffee availability was a sore spot this trip.
In addition to that, we were hoping that we could get a ride to the Disney parks with their shuttles, we were then told that we had to reserve (separate area to front desk) and when I went over there they had "no more available spots". As we had a car it was not a big deal but I imagine if other families are relying on this service they might need to rethink it.
The elevator in Bldg 4 which was were we were staying was out of service, no big deal as we were on the 2nd floor but for people with more luggage or higher floors could be an issue. We were there Mon-Fri and it never got repaired while we were there.
By the second day, we realized they never replenished the caffeinated coffee K-cups, we went searching for some, (front desk did not have any) and ended up having to buy coffee at the Marketplace. Middle of the day some gentle soul from housekeeping was able to provide 4.
On the 3rd day we ran out of [the single roll of] toilet paper. They never left any extra rolls (???) we called the front desk and they took about 30minutes to deliver one but my husband was able to grab one from some housekeeping cart in one of the hallways before that.
On the positive side:
Place was clean
Amenities around the pool were good (bar, restaurant) towels and lifejackets available as well
The Lakeside cafe catered to gluten-free diets! One of the main reasons we needed a kitchen as breakfast is a challenge for us but we had a great dinner there, the prices at the cafe were very reasonable.
On site laundry ($3.50 wash $3.50 dry and takes credit cards so no coins needed)
There is plenty for the kids to do between the two pools plus the waterpark area and the arcade. The also have some organized activities like trivia and such and you get a calendar at arrival.
Housekeeping staff was always willing to help out when asked though apparently they must keep the coffee pods on lockdown as those were hard to get!
While it was not the worst experience ever, I would not consider this place for any future stays. Not sure if the supply chain was at fault for the lack of basic necessities (no dish towels in the "kitchen"??) or if it was a management issue or lack of enough time per room, either way, if you do stay here, lower your expectations.
