Terrible Experience

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 26 Jul 2021
This really should not be labeled a "resort". The inside and outside of the buildings are more like a high end motel. The rooms are tiny, like a small motel room. Yes there are themes, decorations, and a few more amenities than a typical motel, but it's still not worth the cost. We stayed for 4 nights and our room was never cleaned the entire time. It was like pulling teeth to get fresh towels and our trash cans emptied which were overflowing after the 2nd night. They emptied the trash and brought new towels only once during the entire 4 night stay, but only after we called several times and complained the second and third time after they told us "Your room will be serviced, but we do not know when, sorry." I asked, "Does soon mean now, in an hour, in a few hours, or...?" She said "I don't know sir I am sorry." If Motel 6 can bring me new towels in 5-10 minutes after a request, why can't Disney (a 100-200 billion dollar company)? Also, I took my daughter to the arcade and some of the games charged her game card, but didn't start. There was no staff member on hand to assist so we lost money we spent on the game card with no idea how to recover it. In addition, bugs and frogs reside right outside the room doors at times, making rooms accessible for them at times. A huge moth flew into our room when we entered and we had to spend 10 minutes hunting it down and killing it so we wouldn't sleep with it. I would never stay here again due to the poor customer service and high cost. I'd say rent a car and stay at a local chain hotel like the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express. You'll get a bigger room, much better overall service, and pay half the cost.
Date of stay: June 2021
Room Tip: Don't stay here. Disney will do nothing to compensate you after they offer horrible guest...

We stayed one night at all star movies. It reminded me of a regular motel with Disney theming.

Positives: the busses were great and timely. The front desk staff was wonderful and kind. The room was ready early so we could put our stuff down after arriving early to head to the park. The bathroom in the room was nice. The theming is great for littles.

Negatives: the rooms are just okay. I know, it’s a value resort, but it’s Disney. The grounds seemed a little dirty and unkept. The cast members letting people into the restaurant were rude.

Overall, it was just okay. I’d MUCH rather pay the same price and stay at Shades of Green. I do not think we will be back to this resort. I just don’t feel like it was up to my idea of what Disney standards/quality should be.

Room tip: The toy story area is the preferred area. We stayed there so I can’t speak on how far away the other areas are.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience from your stay at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. I'm happy to read that even though this Resort wasn't what you were hoping for, our Front Desk Cast Members were friendly and attentive throughout your stay. I also want to apologize that other Cast Members at the Resort did not uphold our standard for exceptional service and that the appearance of the Resort wasn't up to our high standards. Please know I will be sharing your feedback with the Resort's Leadership team.

If you decide to stay at another Walt Disney World Resort hotel, may I suggest Disney's Art of Animation Resort? This Resort has a lot to offer from its central location to fun transportation options including the Disney Skyliner.

Thanks again and I hope you have a magical day!

This is the first time my stepdaughter came to Disney, so I wanted to give her the full Disney experience and stay at one of their resorts. Little did I know the person that was going to leave Disney with a bad taste was me, with the startling findings of roach after roach in the all star movie resort. As a newcomer in the Disney resort I wanted to make this our family tradition, due to their shortcomings in the pest control area the room was crawling with roaches, made us uncomfortable on our final evening to find more. First and last trip to Disney all star movie resort.
Lastly I contacted guest services to resolve the pest issue and housekeeping to dispose of trash, on our return there was a roach crawling on the wall, and garbages were still full.

Too expensive to stay in such a small room. My daughter was sick so we left a park early. Got her settled and heard a clicking sound and not a knock. Then the maid opens the door and walks in. NOT COOL. Called the front desk and they Said they do it every day and it is allowed for visual inspection. SUPER CREEPY. I do not feel safe, happy and wishing could leave. Stay off site. You can get busses to the parks from other hotels. This is not worth the price or the treatmenr.

Door bellman people were great. They moved our luggage for us which was awesome, even put our refrigerated items in the fridge for us too. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the a/c could not keep up too well though.

Using a phone to unlock door did not work, had to go all the way to the front desk, wait in a long line to get a key.

It sure sounds like your recent visit to Disney's All-Star Movies Resort was a real blockbuster hit! It's wonderful to read that from the moment you arrived to when you checked out, our Cast Members, especially our Bell Services team, made you feel right at home. Although your visit was certainly filled with pixie dust and magical moments throughout your stay, I'm sorry for the challenges you experienced with the My Disney Experience app. I apologize for the frustration this caused on your day, but I am happy to read that our Cast were able to assist right away to ensure your visit was stress-free.

Thank you for the opportunity to read about your stellar visit. We can't wait to roll back out the red carpet for you and your family again real soon!

The All Star Movies resort isn't the nicest resort in Disney World, but it is one of the cheapest places to spend the night on property. At $187 per night, I wasn't too upset. Sure, my room faced a garden and was in the back of the resort and no where near a pool, but the resort isn't a huge one, so it wasn't a big deal. The murphy bed to save space in the room wasn't uncomfortable and was kind of cute. I'm not
a fan of the toiletries being in pumps that are locked onto the shower wall. That's just weird. I miss the days of individual soaps and shampoos. Also, I needed a daily housekeeping check to replenish towels which never seemed to dry in the Florida humidity, but no one from housekeeping ever came into my room. Which means the garbage piled up and we ran out of towels. I know, COVID, but just some clean towels would have made all the difference. Not a place I will push to go to again, but I'm not opposed to another short stay while waiting for my favorite resorts to open.
