I am not sure what drew me to the Faiena Hotel: maybe it was the fact that the original hotel is in stylish Buenos Aires, maybe it was the magnificent entrance or maybe it was the golden dinosaur in the back garden. Whatever the reason, I was delighted I made the decision when I checked into the super-stylish room with balcony overlooking the waterway. The decoration was superb, the bathroom was quirky yet practical, and the toilet was my favorite model in the whole world - the Toto Meet and Greet, as I like to call it. The lid opens when you approach, it has all the useful washing functions and it automatically flushes when you get up. Oh how I long for such luxury in my own house.
I stayed for three nights and being overwhelmed with Miami dining choices, I ended up having room service on two of those nights. And ordered the exact same dinner both times. But what a dinner it was - almost the best burger of my life, on a moist and buttery brioche bun. Truly heaven on a plate. Not cheap, but I had to remember location, location, location.
I didn't investigate much of the hotel, for no reason other than just too busy doing my touristy thing, but the parts I saw, I loved. What a lovely place to stay.More
