My husband and I booked a last minute trip to get away from work and enjoy the sun and beach in Miami. We are so glad that we picked The Palms for our stay. We stayed mid October. As soon as we arrived we were treated very well. Check in went smooth and our room on the top floor had such a beautiful view.
The room: The decor was nice, everything worked well, it was a little small but for 4 nights that's alright. The bathroom was a weird set up, toilet in a separate small room across from the shower and sink. It was crowded in the sink area to get ready but we managed. The bed was comfortable and air conditioner worked good so we slept great! You cannot use the fridge in the room for your own waters and whatever, it's full of expensive mini bar stuff that you cannot take out.
Pool and beach: There is a nice bar by the pool for food and drinks, you can also order food on the beach. They are very efficient on the beach bringing yummy drinks and food. Everything we had for lunch was really really good. The beach chairs are cushioned and they have umbrellas. We didn't spend much time at the pool but there are a lot of chairs and shaded areas. Walking up and down the boardwalk The Palms has the prettiest pool area around....My husband and I booked a last minute trip to get away from work and enjoy the sun and beach in Miami. Food: We only ate lunch at the hotel. Everything we had was very good. There is coffee in the lobby store and bakery items, yogurt, etc. Nice and convenient. The staff was super friendly in the shop. We didn't eat at the restaurant.
At night we would come to the front desk for restaurant suggestions. Jonathan was so helpful I cannot say more nice things about him. What a nice guy and so helpful. He never referred us to a bad place. There was a gal who was new, I can't remember her name, she's from Spain. She was so kind and friendly also. She will be a good asset to the hotel. She will learn a lot from Jonathan..
The location of the hotel is far enough away from the crazy Ocean drive but close enough to many neighborhoods with good restaurants. We made the mistake of using taxis to get around until we finally downloaded Uber app. What a difference that made. The taxi drivers are horrible. It stressed us out every time we drove with them. Uber was the way to go. Much safer and half the price. We sure learned our lesson. Take Uber back to the airport for half the price and they won't drive reckless going 90 miles an hour in a junk car.
I would highly recommend this hotel.More
