When I heard this hotel was part of the Marriott Chain, I imagined one of the behemoth buildings that Marriott is known for. Not the Blue Moon, this is a small property on the classic main drag AIA Collins Ave of olde Miami Beach.

Online reviews complained about the small odd rooms; this is not a cookie cutter hotel property. The rooms are modern, well decorated, and on the smaller side, but you don't need a big room when you have the beach two blocks away, and all that this historic part of South Beach has to offer.

Public spaces are great; there is a very nice lobby, and even nicer front terrace facing the street, as well as the pool and patio out back. A very nice bar that opens up to most of the first floor public space and a nice on-site restaurant that offers everything you need in the way of good food and libations.

Just a short ride from the airport, we took Lyft while we were visiting, the property does not have on-site parking, but uses a close by parking garage if you bring a vehicle with you.

The Blue Moon is a property that has lots of charm and will be memorable for that romantic getaway, honeymoon, or just the opportunity to step out of the rat race and relax.

Be aware there is a Resort Fee that covers a number of things, like towels down at the beach and other things, it is very reasonable, and it also gets taxed. Join both their own property Rewards program, as well as Marriott Reward so that you get the best of both programs.

Room tip: Ask for a suite, it is worth the price.

We recently stayed at this hotel December 1st.
The hotel is in a great location and a block away from Ocean Dr.
The rooms are cozy with an Art Deco feel.
We were greeted with water or champagne, our room even had cookies!
The front desk made it their mission to make our night wonderful. I will be staying here again when I return to South Beach. The bathroom is small but nice. Great shampoo, body wash, and conditioner in the shower. Worth every penny!

This was our first trip to the South Beach area and wanted to stay in one of the many "boutique" hotels but away from Ocean Drive. Decided on the Blue Moon for 2 reasons- location and previous reviews. We were not disappointed! Location on Collins and 10th is perfect, 1 block to the beach, 3 blocks from shopping and a 15 minute walk to Espanola Way which is the restaurant area.
The staff was outstanding from Alfredo the guy that does everything and knows South Beach and who is always there with a smile to Zorr the bartender who is simply amazing with his approach to life.
Nice bikes are included to take and equipped with water. We took the bikes out both mornings and enjoyed the beach boardwalk which is extensive and spectacular, definatly a must do while in South Beach
Breakfast was good, the pool was small is a perfect setting with direct sun in the afternoon and the rooms were properly furnished and equipped.
Ours was a short stay - 3 nights so the next visit will be longer!

Room tip: 2nd floor rooms

This boutique on Collins Ave has charm by the mile. The only negative is the size of the rooms. It is a beautifully reimagined Art Deco hotel with interesting spaces. A few different lounges depending on what you are looking for. The pool is adequate, don’t plan on laps, but the space is turned out beautifully.
The one thing that this hotel does have by the bucketful is a fantastic staff. They went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met. And that we had an enjoyable stay.

I booked this property for 5 nights 2 months prior to my trip via booking.com. After flying in from Dubai via jfk I finally reached the hotel at midnight after around 20 hour in transit. My friend was with me and had also booked a room. First of all I arrive and no one comes to help with luggage. Between us we had 6 pieces of luggage. When we finally reach the front desk we give the reservation names to Yvonne (who should be banned from working in hospitality) and she simply says I’m sorry can’t find your bookings and turns around and starts chatting with her colleague!!! Then I show her the booking confirmations from my email and she actually says “this isn’t my problem call booking.com”. I inform her that we have been in transit for 20 hours and she says we are fully booked I can’t help! Then I ask her to liaise with booking.com and she says the phone isn’t working and she can’t call them!!! Then she offers no solution at all! I call booking.com and they ask to speak to the property. Even the person at booking.com was shocked from how the situation was being handled. I then ask for a manager and am informed there is no one on duty and she can’t reach anyone on the phone! I then book another hotel via booking.com and we are not even offered a ride to the next property! The worst part is at no point did they apologize. Autograph collection should be ashamed of this property and all people involved the night of 6th December at the frond desk should be fired! Worst service I’ve ever seen in my life! Don’t stay here ever! Oh and it looks much nicer in photos. The lobby is shabby and ugly.
