Late September Stay at Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay

Stayed 3 Nights/4 Days at the Marriott Biscayne Bay on the last week of September 2024 for a work conference.

Check in/Out: This was seamless. Check in took only a couple minutes, and we were provided with information about the property, key cards, and reusable water bottles (They had many refills spots around the hotel, and it was a cool little feature),

Hotel: I would consider this a fairly good mid grade hotel. There definitely more expensive/premium options and there are for sure cheaper ones too. The hotel itself has been recently updated and it shows well. The staff were friendly and attentive when we needed something. The A/C was always cool and you could feel it walking in after being outside which was great. The pool and patio were closed during our stay for renovations, and we were told we could use the neighbouring pool.

Room: Our room, like the hotel was recently updated, and featured a modern look, and was good enough for our trip, the bathroom came with everything we needed, and the cleaning staff were always on point. The coffee pod machine (Keurig? in our room was broken and leaked, and was replaced the next day, but we found we did not get any coffee pods restocked) and had to ask.

Location: For this trip the location great as we were waterfront, and a short walk to parks, and some shopping (AKA window shopping the Ferrari dealership). We did walk to Wynwood and Miami Design district as they were only 30-45 minute walks, and when we didn't want to, Uber was a short and affordable ride especially to South Beach.

Restaurant: We were given a daily credit during our stay for their restaurant, which we did twice, both for dinners. Food was good but the service on both our stays were slow, I think at one point we waited close to an hour for our meal, and the place was not very busy. Their restaurant was updated, it looked good, and featured an outdoor patio as well. The hotel also had a small shop for souvenirs, food and had Starbucks coffee.

Also, this resort connects with another hotel, "Double Tree by Hilton" via a small shopping centre which featured a few restaurants, deli, some clothing shops and an actual Starbucks which we used daily.

WARNING!! Marriott charges a $35 credit for the resort fee, even when their pool isn’t open. As part of the resort fee, they offer a $35 credit at their Gold Coast Kitchen for each day of your stay. We were staying for two days, so that should have been two $35 credits.

We called to confirm how we could use that credit. The representative told us that we could use it at two different visits on the same day, as long as we didn’t use it at the same visit. We were not given the credit at our second visit and my credit card was charged for the full amount. I called and spoke with a manager, she said that the $35 credit could only be used per day and not the same day. She offered to refund my credit card for the full charge for being misled by the representative.

The refund was NEVER issued. I called at least 10 times and no one answered the phone, I had to escalate this to corporate and still no refund. I called and spoke with another manager Alexandra, and she is not honoring what the first manager promised. I will not be receiving a refund.

Be very careful trying to use that $35 credit, you could be charged for the very overpriced food at Gold Coast Kitchen as a result. As a Gold Elite member I am very disappointed in all the LIES we’ve been told and will NOT be returning.

Always great to stay here when in Miami. One of my fav hotels. Comfortable room, most of the time early check in is available for RCG bookings and members. The location is great.
I forgot my charger for phone during my last stay and I called reception who put me in contact with security. Yazdi Patel was very helpful. Found it and delivered to thr room. He checked few times to find it as there were too many. Great service.

Check in was abysmal. The front desk was unfriendly with no recognition of my ambassador status nor explanation of welcome or benefits. I'm here in my hotel room now absolutely freezing. Something is wrong with my AC and even though I have it cranked up as warm as it will go, it's still frigidly cold. I tried to contact the hotel through the app but the app says there's no service that way. The app directs you to call the hotel directly. I called 7 times and held interminably and there was no answer at all. I finally reached out to my ambassador team and they tried to contact the hotel directly and they also received no answer despite trying several times themselves. The lack of service here is astounding. I just want some blankets so I coud possibly be warm enough to sleep. Instead I'm freezing, miserable and unable to sleep. Atrocious.

This hotel does not have any amenities. The pool and common areas pictured in three listing have been under construction for the last year. Unfortunately we came to realize this when we were already checked-in, with a family of 2 kids under 6.

Pictures of the pool and common areas should be removed from the app!

Room tip: Avoid this hotel if you have kids, pool and coin areas are closed.

Absolutely a wonderful hotel/stay!
We stayed here pre cruise on A Saturday. From the moment we walked in and was greeted by Alberto (bellman) who took our luggage, stored it and delivered to our room to Lilly that took care of our che king in and of room requests to check out the next morning!
Alberto saw that we had transportation to the cruise port - he handled it all for us! It was such a great stay with wonderful views that we came back the following week .. after the cruise …and stayed again!!!! Alberto and Lilly— make sure you have them handle it all!!
Wonderful Marriott with not only beautiful rooms but wonder and most helpful staff ( I am Marriott Bonvoy Titanium lifetime so I stay in a hotel over 250 nights per year and this location has my highest recommendation)

Room tip: Make sure you ask for Alberto upon arrival as he’ll take care of every detail for getting to and from the cruise port!!!
