Two words..STAY ELSEWHERE

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 31 Jul 2021
Simply not impressed. Spend the extra money for luxury and arrive to an empty (unstocked) mini bar (not even a bottle or wine opener for the drinks we had to purchase at Whole Foods), two towels, front desk that doesn't answer when you call.

Please save your money. Let our disappointment help you out. Message me so I can personally tell you how mediocre this place is.

Ughhh really wanted to leave here with an outstanding review. Went to stay here on a BAECAY with my husband. I have over 15,000 travel agents around the world under my leadership making me the number 1 in the world in my travel industry on the network Marketing side. I’m getting somewhere with this... not a shameful plug. Check in was smooth. It did take us a little bit of time trying to figure out where the 40th floor was in the elevator. We had to get out of it to ask someone. Hubbi and I both missed it..it was on the opposite side of the inside of the elevator. We get to the room.. mind you .. about 5 people on my team referred me so I just KNEW this was about to be everything. The room looked cute upon entering. So I went LIVE on Facebook to do a review. Immediately everyone started inboxing me asking why was I in that particular room.. that I should ask for an upgrade. They said I had a standard room compared to the ones they had. So I sent my husband down to ask and they gave him prices to upgrade. A few of my team said no coach.. sent copies of their free upgrade. Being in the travel industry I do realize that you can’t always get an upgrade so I said hey.. whatever..I was ready to enjoy the room.
Our view was meh.. condos and construction .. we could see a sliver of the water each direction. There was hair .. yes hair on the wall in the bathroom. I really expected much more to be honest. I’m gonna get to the good things at the end.. no worries.. Room service came once during our stay. We kept going to the front desk to ask and they would never come. We asked for extra towels... had to make our way back down to find them ourselves. What was supposed to be relaxing became a chore. I even went to the pool for 3 hours while my husband went to the mall so that they could clean the room. Came back up... nope.. still dirty. We had the clean up sign on And everything. Ok here’s what you really came here for.

Cons- Cleaning Service is almost non existent
-Bathroom wasn’t squeaky clean
-nothing but air in the mini bottle area
-Pool and game room closes at 6pm
-No sun in the pool area

Pros- Beds are comfortable
Staff I encountered were friendly
The robes were a nice touch and very plush

I won’t be going back. We ended up leaving to stay somewhere else bc we just weren’t impressed.

We are Lifetime Titanium Elite members and very loyal Marriott guests it pains me to write this review. I am only on our first day at this hotel and wish we could check out and find any another property but most everything is booked. Never have I encountered a 5 star property run so poorly. I understand Covid changes things but we have been traveling since June during Covid and have never experienced anything quite like this. Covid is becoming the new buzz word excuse for poor quality and laziness. The hotel industry is struggling enough as it is an if efforts are not made to maintain some semblance of quality certain properties will not survive. This hotel is on that list. The hotel itself is beautiful but it’s really just a shell. Nothing is open. One small restaurant on the second floor. Check in was easy but we did not receive anything different by being at the Hotel Beaux Arts. We were not thanked for our lifetime Titanium Membership nor offered any points or breakfast options as with every Marriott Property we visit. We booked an OKeefe room with a beautiful view but mostly looks at the high rise next door under construction. The room is so confusing. Our iPad did not work. It has a lot of high tech options that have very little functionality. It is as if they focused so much on design they completely forgot someone would actually stay in the room. First, you have to insert your room key into a slot for power. Weird. The curtains are electric with no instructions how to use. I gave up trying to just use the shade feature. The bathroom has touch faucets that are pretty but don’t work. After about 30 seconds the cold water ran scalding hot while I had pushed cold water and then completely shut off. It would not come back on. The shower is a rain shower with a hand held faucet. Good luck trying to figure out how to turn on the hand faucet. Plan to wash you hair every day. All bathroom doors are clear glass. Even the toilet. While it may be sexy to watch your spouse shower it is most definitely not sexy to watch them on the toilet. There is a clear window above the tub that shines into the bedroom so if anyone gets up in the middle of the night you have a very bright light that wakes you up. This morning we woke up wanting coffee. There is an Ily coffee maker in the room. It makes about a tablespoon of coffee even when you press full cup. There was no creamer. About 50 sugars but not cream. I tried to call the front desk to ask about room service. After being on hold for 30 minutes I decided to just get dressed and go down stairs. So much for a nice leisurely morning with coffee. I ran into someone checking out and he had also been on hold 25 minutes trying to get valet and gave up as well. When I came downstairs the person at the desk was talking with a coworker. I asked if there are people who answer the phone at this hotel. She apologized and said she had been talking with her Manager. You have one person to check in and answer the phone? If you can’t properly staff then you should not be open. I asked to have coffee, creamers and several waters brought to our room. They were brought in a giant garbage bag and left on the floor. I went to the one restaurant open and ordered 2 large coffees. $27. Yes $13.50 a piece for 8 oz of coffee. I went to the spa for a massage which was very nice. The spa itself looks like a office building conference room. Zero ambiance. They do not offer robes. Disappointing. I then went to the pool at noon. It is completely shaded. No sun whatsoever on a beautiful sunny day. Also no towels to offer or drinks or food. Nothing but a small dark pool area. Terrible. We have two more nights here and I really wish we were not staying at this hotel. The Hotel Epic next door looks so much nicer. I’m hoping the valet will not let us down when we have to leave early Sunday morning after reading the reviews of how long it takes to get your car. This hotel should not be listed as a 4 or 5 star. It is barely a 2 star. If they cannot operate at the level they branded they should close this property. It is an embarrassment to the Marriott name.

This is a really neat concept and overall the hotel is a good Option. The staff is super friendly but not terribly competent(incredibly long check in process, staff at bar not familiar with common drinks such as martinis, etc).

As stated earlier the concept is really good and hopefully they will fine tune current rough edges and if they do this will be a fantastic option.

We checked into Beaux Arts in the evening after moving from another hotel. Overall, disappointing on so many levels.

Check-in: one of the WORST and inefficient check-in experiences we've ever had of any hotel five star or not. We sat down, gave our name to get checked in, and then the young lady at the front desk proceeded to type away at the computer for about 15 min, without a word what she was doing. Finally we asked her what was going on and her response was she was trying to get our room allocated for our reservation that we paid for already. She also made a few calls to a manager to try and make this happen. After another 15 min or so she offered to put us in another room to wait while she completed this. At this point it was already 10;30pm and we were tired and hungry. We politely declined since we did not want to move from room-to-room and told her we were going to grab some food while she figured this out.

Room: Ah where do I start. So many issues. We have slightly different schedules (one a night owl and one early riser) and had booked this hotel because we wanted a large suite that will enable each person to do their own thing without disturbing the other. This room was designed very poorly. The bathroom had no door and a huge floor to ceiling frosted glass wall separating the bed from the bathroom. This means at night anyone who wants to shower or use the toilet needs to turn on the light in the bathroom that ends up shining onto the bed.

Same with the bedroom from the living room. There was frosted glass wall on one side of the bed and frosted glass door on the other side. Essentially anyone in the living room could not turn on lights without shining light into the bedroom. Bathroom sink outside handle was broken as well.

The sinks were sensored but one sink would not stay on and would turn off after 30 seconds or so. Also both sinks would not drain which we asked to have looked at but was never addressed.

Service: Extremely slow. All requests took at least 20-30 min before anything would show up or I had to call multiple times because requests were forgotten or not communicated.

We had issues with the Bose TV where the cable would just keep jumping. We called multiple times and had this looked at. We got a range of people who showed up that didn't speak any English, or were told that the TV just needed to be reset (which we did twice to no avail). We finally just gave up on this.

I woke up one morning to very strong fumes of paint. Called the front desk and told them this in which they responded that they were not doing any painting. I had them send someone to check and two individuals showed up that could not speak any English and they just offered to spray the room with air freshener. After miming and hand motions I was able to communicate that I wanted to know what the source was to the smell since paint fumes are poisonous. They sent some maintenance people to look at our air filters during which they guys shared that they were painting the halls (really??).

Check-out: We brought all these issues up during our stay and when we checked out. We were assured that a manager would contact us to address these issues but never heard from anyone after 2 weeks now.

If you are looking for a five-star stay and experience this is definitely not a place I would recommend.

We stayed here for one night before our cruise. The hotel is located in the JW Marriott Miami with a separate check in and separate keypad in the elevator. When you first get there you need to have someone send you up to the 39th floor for check in. We left our car downstairs to go check in but later just decided to let valet take it as parking in the area was only parking garages and all expensive. We were upgraded from a city view to a water view and I must say that was very nice. The room is very modern and I wish someone or maybe a quick book to explain how to work the panel for the radio, tv, shades etc. While we played around with the button I couldn't lower the radio and it was way to loud. The hotel was adding 49er's decorations and we were told the team would be staying there for the Super Bowl game this coming weekend.
Overall a very good stay and would definitely stay here again.
