It was a real thrill to see the statue in the water. Even in the high waves I made it back twice to view the statue. It is awesome and moving.

I saw the Christ of the Abyss on my 4 hour snorkel tour at Pennekamp State Park, all together going to three different spots on the living, thriving coral reef. The tour was so so worth it! We saw so many wonderful fish and coral reefs.

This famous statue is located at a beautiful coral reef and accessible from Key Largo ( the first of the Florida keys or the upper keys) via boat. I purchased my ticket at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Plan on spending about $50 for the boat ride, & snorkeling equipment rental. Also, make sure you are going to the reef where the statue is. There are several locations of reef.
The time duration is about 3 hours. Arrive at least 1/2 hour prior to your boat departure to enssure you have time to get your equipment. If you have your own snorkeling equipment, even better & less expensive for you !

We snorkeled to see Jesus with Sundiver Snorkeling. We saw so much fish, turtles, barracudas and rays swimming around the Jesus statue, we were a little taken back. Ha!
The lil caverns leading up to the statue were very cool and had hidden creatures feeding away. Great experience for the kids.

great snorkeling and so cool seeing Christ statue. There was a lot of fish and coral to see. Could see the Christ statue without having to dive down.
