We where told to go here and thank heavens. They have everything you could possibly want to do. Kayak rentals - Snorkeling trips all day long and several boats. A beach as much as you get in Key largo. Nice to snorkel as well. Bring your own food though - not much more than chips and water available. May be more in the high season. Snorkel trip to Bay Rock was great. Unfortunately the waves and current where fairly high. Make sure it is a calm day if you are not a strong swimmer and same for children. They will not enjoy it if waves are even 1.5 ft. They clearly show conditions inside when you get your ticket. I did make it to see the Statue of Jesus Christ just off the Bay Rock reef.

We took the kayak trip at John Pennekamp on a Sunday. The staff in the store is very attentive but the guys at the kayaks that help you get the kayak and stuff are plain rude and uncaring. As we entered they called to get a life vest first. No help in getting the right size and getting it on, they remained relaxing in the area. Then they where fighting over who got the single and who the double. To say they where lazy is an understatement.

We got in the kayaks and where off. The map is amazingly clear and easy
to follow. Signage underway is good as well. The water is so clear. We saw all lot of birds. The nature is fantastic.

This is definitely something for your todo list if you are in this area. Get in early, before noon to skip the crowd.

Our snorkeling experience at John Pennekamp was amazing. We had about 21 teenagers on board and we were blown away when we reached the dry rocks. We are very thankful of the skill and expertrise provided by Darryl and Doug who were our captain and guide! Very informative and kept the students engaged during the boat rides. Definitely a must do!!!

Enjoyed the glass boat tour - great way to see the reefs without getting wet! Staff was very friendly and gave a verbal tour of the area and the fish we saw.
