We saw so so so much!!! Even a 4-5 foot Carribbean Reef Shark! Also an 18" spiney lobster. But the highlight was the colors of the schools of fish, the hard and soft corals, and the gardens of plant-life. It was a perfect day! We went to 3 different sites, at one site, there were 13 2-3 foot barracuda haning still in the water at the anchor rope. It was kind of eerie. We also saw the Christ of the Abyss, which was great.
Tech support and the equipment was ok, except for Stephanie, who was totally On It with Everything you needed! Thanks Steph! I was very thankful that I brought my own "dry snorkel" which I felt was necessary in the ocean. We have been snorkeling several times, including at Pennekamp, but this was by far the best time and is the best place to see the wonders of a huge, living coral reef and the abundant sealife. I would definitely recommend getting your own dry snorkel, and going on the extended 4 hr tour.

we had a great experience on the snorkeling cruise at 3pm on Sunday - only a rather small group was on the boat and our captain (forgot the name) and Brian gave as a great experience out there on the reef.
Good view in calm waters and lots of colorful fish! less destroyed through Irma than we expected.

John Pennekamp has many ouitdoor activities, such as Kayaking ,where you can experience the Mangroves, manatees and Mantarays & much more, camp, bike, hike in a unique ecosystem, and of course, snorkel beautiful Coral Reefs.
Plan on spending about $50 each to snorkle, which includes the boat ride to the reefs with a professional and friendly staff, and the essential equipment of swim fins, mask and snorkle. You can also rent a full or shorty wet suit. We snorkled in late April & a wet suit was not necessary- great weather. The captain & crew is very informative aout the reefs
Key Largo is the first of the Florida Keys. We spent a few hours at the park, then drove 97 miles to Key West. I love the Keys !.
