We have stayed in El Matador units many times. This one is by far the worst we've ever seen. For what we paid, we expected an exceptional condominium. We got nothing even close to an average unit. It has never been updated. It still has the original cheap kitchen cabinets. They are scratched, chipped, and broken. It doesn't appear that this place has been cleaned in a long time. There is dust everywhere. The dining room glass table was actually sticky. The kitchen drawers were filthy with crumbs, dirty silverware, glasses, plates, cups, etc. We had to clean and reline every drawer and cabinet. There is dried food on some of the cabinets. The range hood is rusty and dirty. The living room furniture is dirty, old, and very uncomfortable. The wood work in the rooms is chipped, scratched and needs painting. The light switches are dirty and sticky. The furniture on the balcony is rusted. Some of the chairs are tattered. The utility door on the balcony is warped, rusted, and won't close. The beach chairs in the balcony storage room are covered with mold and rust. There are no hangers in any of the closets. There is barely room in the master closet to put anything because it is full of furniture. There was lipstick on one of the bath towels. There is only one good feature of this unit. The view of the pool and beach are spectacular.
