This was our second time staying at Waterscape (we went the same time last year and rented a 1 - bedroom). This year, we needed an extra bedroom since we had another baby (now 3 kids) and brought our nanny with us. Our 3 year old and 2 year old slept in the bunk area. Because it is right off the kitchen, we brought a dark bed sheet and hung it up with thumb tacts so they could fall asleep in the dark. It allowed us to still access the kitchen while they were in bed. We brought a pop up crib (a pea pod - smaller than a pack and play) for our 7 month old which fit perfectly in the half bath located off of the dining room. Because we could turn on the fan, it provided enough noise to drown out any noise we were making in the living space.
We really wanted walk out access to the pool. Boy, are we glad we paid a little extra to do so! When the baby would nap, we could bring the monitor out by the lazy river and we could still all enjoy the outdoors just feet away from our unit while our baby slept.
Another wonderful feature about this property is all of the grills. One thing we learned from last year is that we are not in the stage of life to go out to eat at all the dining options! Our kids do not last. So, we planned accordingly and grilled out every day. One night, we did a shrimp boil (got some amazing local shrimp). The condo was equipped with a big enough pot to do the shrimp boil as well as a shrimp deveiner (?).
Because we had been there last year, we knew the things we'd want to have on hand this time. While the unit has a blender and a coffee pot, we opted to bring our own vitamix and keurig. Other things we packed this time was foil, olive oil, cooking spray, condiments, salt and pepper and other seasonings. We saved some money not having to buy all of that new when we got there.
This is a small thing, but there are no plastic cups in the unit, just glass. When we were bathing the kids, we needed a plastic cup. So, we were all hanging onto cups that we got out at fast food places! I would probably pack disposable ones or just plastic cups from home.
The only "down" side to this unit is that it is all tile. There are no rugs in any of the bedrooms or even on the floors of the bathrooms. I wish they'd have something as it can be a little dangerous with wet kiddos running on tile floors!
Overall, we had another successful trip and cannot wait to go again next year!
