The Old Bakery, in the small village of Mollington, is such a delightful place to stay. You will need a car, but finding a nicer place will be almost impossible. From the time we arrived, we were met by Jackie and Michael in the drive. You will be impressed by the pictures on the internet, but that is nothing compared to what you will see when you go through the entire property. There is a large kitchen, fully equipped with everything, including dish washer and washer/dryer combination. The dining room comfortably seated us all. Living room had ample seating and a big screen TV. We were a party of 9, four adults and five children ranging in ages from 6 to 12. We were greatly impressed by what has been done to the property over the years. Starting from nothing they have made the home unbelievable. Four bedrooms and three baths worked well for us all. The property is well stocked with games, books, DVD's, TV's and a wonderful yard on different levels with flowers everywhere. There were many evenings when we would go on walks through the village. Four miles away is the town of Banbury where you will find everything you need for groceries and restaurants. We stayed a week and it was not enough. There were many sights we could have seen within easy drives of The Old Bakery. If ever in England again, I would not hesitate to go back.
The house was just what we wanted for our annual family get together. It was of the highest standard and had everything we needed. Jackie had thought of everything even leaving sweets and colouring books for the children. We had a lovely weekend and hope to go back next year. Would highly recommend a visit.
Amazing property which catered for 10 people (6 adults and 4 children). Each room was an excellent size and not once did we feel like we were on top of each other. Lovely bonus of full sky tv package and little surprises of games and toys for children dotted about the property. Great outside space where children could football whilst adults had a BBQ. Such a kind and thoughtful owner who has clearly thought about what a family want in a weekend break , a home from home, so much so my 5 yr daughter declared this the best cottage ever!! Can't wait to return in the future
We have been here for a family trip (2 adults and 6 teenagers) and we really enjoyed our stay. We were warmy welcomed by Jackie and Michael in this beautiful house they built on their own. Sweets for the kids and white wine in the fridge for the adults, what a kind attention!
The region is also so charming and central to many beautiful places: Oxford, the Cotswolds, Warwick, Stratford, etc... A car is of course essential.
Our 2 weeks were too short.
We recommend strongly this place!
A group of eight recently returned from a weekend break in this beautiful property. The house and gardens are simply stunning. The only negatives I would have is that some of us were unable to connect to the extended wifi but we were advised that a new connection was to be installed in the property. The BBQ is great! Although as it is a large brick BBQ you will need a lot of charcoal for an even coverage. Plenty of chairs and tables outside to make the most of the BBQ and weather! :-)
