This large cottage with extensive views over the lancashire country side has a lot to offer those who wish to explore the area, however, do your homework, it takes a bit of finding.
The views shown on the web site do not extend round to the left where a yard houses 3 large chained dogs and many contractors vehicles. Delph Cottage has comfortable beds and a large upper lounge with lovely views but we had problems with theTV and side lamps were either without bulbs or not near an electric point. The downstairs bathroom had a hole in the floor behind the loo and several ugly unfinished areas, the shower was very uninviting and finding the last occupants soap bag left on the shelf was very off putting.
We were left with no hot water on our first day due to the last occupants altering the heating system (this was corrected immediately after we informed the owners) and we found several items (an old pair of working mans gloves!) left in the bedroom from a previous occupant.
This is not a child friendly cottage because they would not be able to go outside without close supervision due to the dogs and vehicles.
