Standard Cilento fare. Grillata Mista rather overcooked. Photos on the wall suggest celebrity guests, but didn't really warrant that sort of clientele.

Great fun watching the daughter at work after reading previous reviews - she didn't misbehave but certainly doesn't give the impression that she enjoys her job!

After eating remarkably well in Basilicata, we were disappointed with the quality of the food when we visited southern Campania in early October. The exceptions were Tenuto Vannulo in Capaccio Scalo (their stunning, stunning bufala made for divine picnics) and la Chioccia d’Oro. This friendly, unpretentious trattoria serves tasty food at very fair prices. And it is busy, busy! Portions are large, the cooking is well above average and service is friendly, efficient (it has to be with the numbers of customers!). The only negative note is the house wine, which is not stunning but drinkable and unlikely to break the bank. For a three-course meal with wine, water and coffee for two, we paid between 40 – 45 euros. Instinct would suggest a 3 ½ star rating, but four is fairer – wonderful to see a trattoria SO busy on week day lunchtimes (that added to the whole experience). Visit!

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. A table was booked for us for 8.00pm on a Thursday evening. We drove up into this village outside Vallo della Lucania and the restaurant does look as though you are going into somebody's home. The only giveaways are the large carpark and canopied entrance to the side. We walked in to find the place empty and your heart sinks but within half an hour it was full of Italian diners. Be warned, the friendly staff speak no English and the menu is only in Italian but we managed to enjoy a fantastic meal of local, in season, produce. It was all beautifully cooked and delightfully presented. Our few words of Italian came in very handy because we all had a great evening at a very affordable price.
