Grand Junction Doubletree - a strong YES!!!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Jul 2024
Been a bit stranded in the Grand Junction area, and had to leave another property. I have always had great experiences at the Doubletree properties. This was no exception. It was booked third party, but that didn't stop Bridget at the front desk from getting me into the best possible room for my status, taking my back issues into account when I called the night before of my arrival to check on bath tub availability. Excellent customer service from her. I arrived earlier than typical check in, but Matt at the front was able to get me into that room, on a high floor away from noise. Later in the first evening, I spoke with Bridget again to discuss what I perceived to be a difference between water temperature in the shower and that coming from the sink. She shared my curiosity and had David, the eager maintenance man ready to come and check to see if there were settings amiss. By the time I got to my room, the temperatures seemed to have leveled out, so David's talents were not required. But it is the willingness to address the issue immediately that stands out. High marks for all with whom I have encountered here. Great staff, clean and comfortable room. And those cookies ... mmmmmmmm ... Thanks Team

Nikki at the Bistro was excellent! We had two dinners at the hotel while we were in town. She was the server both times. She made great recommendations. She frequently and pleasantly checked on us. She offered a list of things to do while we enjoyed the town.

Our recent stay at the Doubletree wasn't just about the accommodations, but the extraordinary staff that truly made our trip memorable. Bridgette and Jordan were both incredibly personable, warm, and welcoming. They each had a great sense of humor and were willing to go beyond the typical client interactions to have genuine, life conversations with us.

Each time we left the hotel, whether it was just a quick trip to our truck or for a longer outing, both Bridgette and Jordan made sure to make eye contact and speak with us. Their friendliness and attentiveness truly stood out.

A delightful bonus was the incredible iced water in the lobby, infused with strawberries and pineapple. Whatever Doubletree is doing, they should definitely keep it up because this was the cleanest and most refreshing water we've ever experienced.

Thank you, Doubletree, and especially Bridgette and Jordan, for making an otherwise annoying business trip enjoyable.

The hotel has an ok atmosphere in the lobby area and dinner at the Bistro is nice, however breakfast is terrible and expensive, there is no-room cleaning service, the room is old and smelly and parking is $12.00 per day.
Why charging for parking when you have a huge lot for guests?, plus, there is no other place to park, the hotel is not walking distance to any other place, how are we supposed to get there without a car? This charge is outrageous.
The staff at the front desk is not polite and don't try.
The only good thing was one of the waitresses at the Bistro, she was so nice and accommodating! We tipped her 25% because she deserved it.
This place is a motel disguised as a Hilton. I would not stay here again.

Room tip: A motel would give you exactly the same experience for less

We have been going to this hotel for 30 years before it was even a Doubletree. I love this hotel. The pool area is always beautiful. The beds are comfy. The lounge/bar food is great and so are the staff, especially Becka who always remembers what we like to eat and drink. However, breakfast sucks. The hotel used to offer normal cafe made to order breakfasts and we used to be able to order a Bloody Mary or Mimosa. Ever since Covid, the hotel has done away with most of their waiters and waitresses. Their breakfast buffet is cold and unsanitary due to no glass barrier. Most hotels include their breakfast buffets in the nightly price. Doubletree now charges for breakfast. They used to offer a coupon for it or a complimentary drink but not this time. Go elsewhere for breakfast and bring your own alcohol if you want drinks for breakfast. Also, lunch is no longer served. Everything else about this hotel is lovely although the prices have increased to almost $300 on some nights. I wish they would go back to offering an on site restaurant all day!

Room tip: Go elsewhere for breakfast. They charge for breakfast buffet that most hotels include in their price. No lunch is available. But great dinner

Thank you for the feedback. We look forward to having lunch again in the future as well as a cook to order breakfast. Lots of new fun things to come soon and we hope you can come back to enjoy them! We do understand the need to bring these back.
