SCAM!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY.

SCAM!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

I booked a room through Priceline. When I arrived to check-in, they told me my reservation was canceled. I did not cancel it and Priceline showed it as active. They refused to give me a room even though they had charged Priceline for it. It was a refundable room and if it had been canceled, I should have been refunded. I am still trying to get my money back.

The parking lot was empty. Clearly they are scamming everyone.

I was passing through on my motorcycle coming from Aspen and needed a place to stay to get out of the rain. I found this online and booked through Expedia. Rate seemed low but was non-refundable since it was already 9pm. When I showed up, the guy at the counter said (while looking down) “there was an error with your booking… you should ask for a refund from the third party you booked with.”

I was so confused and he just kept repeating the same line like Rain Man. He basically stole my money and wouldn’t give me a room. I was sent back out into the rain to look for another place.

I noticed also that the Baymont sign was covered up by a cloth banner that said another motel name I had never heard of. Such a strange and terrible experience! Stay away! Trust me.

Room tip: Scam!!! Don’t book online, they take your money! Super rude and unprofessional.

Safe yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.
We arrived to find the employee in a t-shirt with an airpod in. The man was hammering my father for a credit card despite paying online and my dad asking why he needed another card. They had a weird sign posted all over the lobby, “You have 5-10 minutes to tell us if your room is dirty”. I found it very odd we would have to address the cleanliness of the room. I proceeded to check the reviews as the management was incredibly rude and this was the only hotel in the entire city with an empty parking lot. I saw the multiple complaints of dirty rooms/bathrooms, poor (nonexistent might be a better word) breakfast and roaches. We asked the man to show us the rooms before signing any paperwork. We noticed stains on the sheets of both beds and the management told my brother, “You can look, look for bedbugs”. We booked rooms that conjoined and when we asked the man, he got frustrated and started talking to us like children, talking very slowly and loudly. We ended up turning back around and booking somewhere else.
If you like dirty rooms, beyond incredibly rude staff and sleeping with bedbugs/roaches, this is the perfect place for you! Please book somewhere else or sleep in your car.

***WARNING***
Do not stay at this motel. I have never had a more awful experience at a hotel, not only with the quality of the rooms but dealing with management as well.

We arrived at check in and from the beginning was given the impression that our staying with them was an inconvenience of some sort. Considering the parking lot was completely empty and seemed there were only two other rooms occupied, I don’t understand the inconvenience that was portrayed.

Moved into the first room which had a broken A/C unit in 100° Grand Junction weather. When we asked to move rooms they seemed frustrated with us for their broken A/C.

The second room had a functioning A/C, great. Later on in the night we realized that the toilet was soiled from the previous guest. I will spare the ‘dirty’ details, but picture splatter from the previous guest on the underside of the toilet seat and drips down the side of the bowl. Absolutely disgusting. Being 10:30 at night, we decided to stick it out in the room as the beds were clean and address the bathroom situation in the morning.

Come morning, we go to check out the continental breakfast in the morning which was pathetic. They have fridges labeled with all the things they should have for the breakfast i.e. Jimmy Dean, Yogurt, Cream Cheese, Butter, etc. All that was out at the start of breakfast was some milk for cereal, OJ, Apple Juice, and a fruit cup. Considering the breakfast area was set up for much more than that I asked the front desk person if there was any more of the rest of breakfast left. I was met with such a rude reply of ‘No’ that really caught me by surprise.

After my breakfast question I started to explain the situation with the dirty bathroom. I was interrupted by the guy with a response of we dont do housekeeping. I explained that this would be more of bringing the cleanliness up to par to which he replied ‘You are wrong the room was clean’. Then he launches into a rant about ‘first you complain about the air conditioning, you make us switch your room, then you complain about the next room being dirty, then you complain about my breakfast’. He storms out of the lobby to talk to another hotel employee. As he leaves I hear him say ‘I hate these expedia people’. I was speechless to say the least.

As we were suppose to have one more night at this hotel I reached out to expedia for help canceling and refunding that second night. Expedia was very helpful but had no help from the hotel. The expedia agent called the hotel to confirm what was going on and according to the agent the hotel staff yelled at them over the phone for even calling. Expedia graciously refunded our second night stay directly as they saw first hand how awful the staff is here.

Luckily a much nicer hotel was available across the street for almost the same price. They were super kind, checked me into a room at 10am, and even said they have heard terrible things about the baymont.

Moral of the story here, steer clear of this place. I have never written a review in my life, but this experience felt like it warranted sharing with others. I stay in a lot of hotels for work, some better than others, but this one is by far the worst I’ve come across.

Room tip: Do not stay here.

Terrible hotel, dirty and rundown, very rude staff. The completely empty parking lot in a sea of similar hotels nearby all with full lots should tell you that no one stays here for a reason. I booked it, went to check in, saw it was a dump and experienced the front desk rudeness, and walked out. Beware booking via Priceline as no refund will be given by the hotel or Priceline once you see the place and decide against it. You’ll have to work on a refund via BBB and your card bank. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere first before getting duped.

I am an employee of another Wyndham hotel in the area. I made this reservation for my parents who live in Denver. Baymont by Wyndham Grand Junction does NOT ACCEPT locals at all and since my Wyndham account address is a local Grand Junction address they refused to even rent the room to my parents even though they have Denver addresses on their driver licenses.

Room tip: Do not stay if local or if you are simply a local renting the room for non local family
