This hotel was nice and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was nice and big. We had driven several hours and it was nice to find a reliable hotel chain that has not disappointed us in our travels.

Very clean hotel and room. My kids said the pool was warm and had a blast. The rooms have multiple pillows on each bed labeled soft and firm for utmost comfort. The breakfast buffet was good, not amazing but standard hotel fare. Good amenities in the room. Only issue was that our air didn’t get as cold as we wanted for sleeping, but we managed. Recommend this hotel if you stop in Grand Junction

This property is going to have a complete redo in the Fall from what I was told. Think it has been ten years. The reason I gave it a 4 is because of the room we were given. It was very spacious with one bedroom with a door and one bed in the living area, both king beds. There were three televisions. Room was clean, bedding good, beds comfortable. For some reason the room had a strong unpleasant odor when we first arrived. We probably got used to the smell. The bathroom door needs repair and that will happen later this year. It was very quiet. There is one of these rooms on each floor. Carpet in the first floor hallway is really soiled. We appreciated the USA Today being available again except Thursday it did not come. Be sure to try the nearby Mi Mexican restaurant. We thought it was outstanding and you can walk to it, dine in or get take out or have delivered. Breakfast had enough options. Front desk workers were very helpful. Internet worked fine.

My family and I stayed there for one night and we liked the holiday inn express. The moment we walked into our room we had a nice cool room which was a plus. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. The only thing was that the doors looked like they could be repaired, but everything else was good. My wife wanted to stay another day, but we couldn't. It was a great stay the staff were nice. They took cleanliness seriously!

Very unhappy with this hotel.
Almost all of her hand sanitizers were empty I told them multiple times they said oh sorry we have to order them. Beds are extremely uncomfortable. The TV does not allow you to go above volume 20 I was in a hearing impaired room due to my son having hearing issues I could not hear the TV when I asked them if they could fix it they stated that’s their default on all of their TVs so it Hass to stay the same even in a hearing impaired room. The first two days and stayed across the street at the Doubletree I would definitely recommend stay there over here.

While we encourage all guests to tell us the good and the bad so it can be addressed, I must ask if you can take a moment and double check the hotel that you wrote your review for. You comment about staying across the street at the Doubletree causes concern for me as we are the furthest hotel away from the Double tree in Grand Junction. The Holiday Inn Express in Grand Junction is an average, mostly clean and outdated example of Holiday Inn Express. It's a good 5 years overdue for an exhaustive, floor-to-ceiling renovation.
1) My guest room was mostly clean, spacious and comfortable. Furniture was scratched and dinged.
2) The TV was old from 2009. Needless to say, the picture-quality on an 11-year-old TV was not great.
3) The room has had wired ethernet cords. Who still uses that?
4) USB outlets were nonexistent, except for a power bank on the nightstand that contained one USB phone outlet and one USB tablet outlet.
5) Gym had older Life Fitness equipment. Life Fitness is my preferred hotel gym brand but the gear here was showing its age and in need of replacing with a newer generation.
6) Breakfast was limited to yogurts, milk, juice, Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches, burritos, and sugary oatmeal. Not the usual Holiday Inn Express breakfast, which other Holiday Inn Express hotels have found ways to still provide.
7) Mask policy not enforced.
8) No pantry to buy snacks or drinks.
On the plus side, staff were polite and welcoming, the hotel provides local and national newspapers for free in the lobby, and the hotel is in a good location.
Grand Junction, unfortunately, doesn't have many hotel options. So it would be nice if the Holiday Inn Express was fully renovated.
