Convenient For a One Night Stay

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 15 Feb 2019
We only stayed a night. Good location near a mall and lots of eateries. People working there were nice. Fairly new, so very clean. Big suite, very quiet - good quality for the price. Plain and simple furnishings but very comfortable. Wifi worked well. Gym and Laundry on site if you need those too. Plenty of parking. No free breakfast, but we usually don't eat breakfast anyway....Starbucks across the street. Overall, completely fine place for a one night stay or even longer, especially if you want to save some money and eat in or cook for yourself.

We stayed one night in a one bedroom queen suite. Room was spacious and clean.
Bed was very comfortable and, as is common with IHG hotels, we had the choice of firm or soft pillows. We slept well, hotel was very quiet. We had a very well equipped kitchen and so we were able to prepare an evening meal easily.

Gym was good with uptodate equipment.

So a good stay and we would return if next in the area.

Room tip: We always ask for top floor rooms away from the elevator.

We were supposedly booked for a suite with a king bed. When we arrived we were given a room with a standard/queen bed. We went back to the desk & was told they only had queen beds. We were then given a room on the first floor which is the dog floor with two queen beds (more like a standard bed). The room smelled. We will never stay there again. The only good thing about the room was it had a kitchenet with a bag of popcorn to be popped in the microwave. Wished we could have gotten into the Holiday Inn Express. We had food we cooked in the microwave.

We are on a 3 week road trip with twin 15 month olds. We were driving through Grand Junction when the weather changed ruining our camping plans. We were flustered with screaming babies when we stopped. I am so thankful we stopped here. Our room and bathroom were both extremely clean. We really appreciated the full sized fridge, stove, microwave, and well-stocked kitchen supplies. (No free breakfast, but the full kitchen allowed us to cook our own.) It was so helpful to be able to use their complementary laundry room. The sweet lady at the front desk was so kind and helpful. With such a reasonable rate, we will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.

The hotel was great from the start - the room appeared clean and was quiet. The bed was comfortable. It wasn’t until the middle of the night that I realized my unfortunate problem - with pet allergies, I was in a room that must have had a good amount of pet hair. I was up most of the night sneezing. Definitely not the hotel’s fault, as I should have thought to ask more questions.

This hotel is located in a new, traveler oriented area of Grand Junction. There are new hotels, restaurants, and stores newly built. Fantastic front desk people are eager to please. We found our initial room was next to a barking dog; consequently, the staff gladly moved us to a better room. The hotel is new so it is clean and well appointed. The WiFi is easy to access and fast. However, for individuals seeking a complimentary breakfast, Candlewood Suites do not provide that service. Instead, they have an all-suite property at really good prices.
