I returned for the first time in months as last time I stayed I was assured that the hotel was being sold and a full renovation would be carried out.
Nine months later, nothing has changed. What was an extremely tired hotel is now a dump far below the standard expected of a Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn Grand Junction is now on a par with a dumpy roadside motel.
That's unfortunate because staff have always been polite and welcoming. Likewise, the food has always been decent for a Holiday Inn.
My first room had a completely worn desk chair, extensively worn and damaged furniture, mold or mildew in the walk-in shower, and hair on the toilet.
I was moved to a new room -- a suite.
The suite had hair on the carpet, huge amounts of hair on the bathtub, and hair on the in-room telephone.
All things considered, this property is far below the acceptable standard for any hotel, let alone a branded hotel in the Holiday Inn chain. It should be deflagged until renovations are completed.
