5 years outdated

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 16 Dec 2020
The Holiday Inn is 5 years outdated. TVs were old, furniture was old, the decor was very dark and dated, carpeting is worn-out. Rooms have almost no sound insulation, both the windows facing the interstate highway and internally with the walls separating guest rooms and hallways. You can hear a lot of noise, which is unacceptable for a hotel built in the last 10-12 years.

The room was very large. The pool was heated but need to make an appointment for using. Complimentary shuttle to airport was available. Front desk was friendly and gave me bottles of water for free. Parking was free.

The hotel is right off of I-70, however signage finding it from the road is not too good. You have to drive through an office park. It’s near the regional airport. The lobby is very large and roomy. Since it was after 5PM, my room was ready right away. They were nice enough to upgrade me to a suite, with a small sitting area and extra TV. Room was clean and shower worked as well as most hotel showers do.

The pool is open until 11, so I had time for a swim.

I did not dine at the restaurant.

Room nice. Front desk staff very nice. But very, very noisy. You hear any footstep or movement above, all doors closing in hallway, any car doors slamming shut, all car horn beeps when cars are locked. And the noises happen all hours with late arrivals and early departures. Be prepared to be woken up a lot and have to get up early as noise is intense after around 6am.

Hello poiuqwerasdfvcxz,

It is great to hear feedback from one of our guests.

We find ways for our guests to have an efficient and frictionless stay experience. It is saddening to know that issues with noise made us miss the mark. I am sorry for the letdown. Not to worry, I have looped our team to make sure that each area of concern is addressed accordingly.

Despite the inconvenience, we hope that you can give us another opportunity to host your stay again.

Best,

Ronald R.

Very disorganized restaurant that is serving breakfast. We tried to have a breakfast and the server Amelio told us 20 mins wait. We waited 35 minutes watching people getting out of the restaurant and the server Amelio was avoiding eye contact with us to even have us seated. This place “ Amelio” wasted my time while traveling. They are supposed to make your stay and travel easier. In this case they dropped the ball. He “ Amelio” even had people seated without serving them breakfast. This place is a joke. Stop wasting people’s time!!!!!!! We felt that we had to let someone know about Amelio’s behavior, we tried to inform Sierra that was at the desk, but Sierra was very defensive and unapologetic, which made us more upset. It was basically take it or leave it attitude, which is not acceptable in this business. When we check out, Sierra didn’t even says a word to us, not even thank you for staying with us, Sierra acted like a machine “Even machines display a thank you message”. Amelio/Sierra is the issue in this hotel, everything else is good. Amelio was dishonest and Sierra was very Deffensive and Rude, this doesn’t look good for Holiday Inn. Please who ever reads this, don’t blame it on the pandemic. We have been on the road and we stayed at many hotels, this kind of behavior never occurred. Dishonesty/Rudeness and business don’t go together!!!! Poor poor management/service.

Pros:
Nice clean room, had a microwave and frig/freezer which we needed for the overnight stay. The living room was separated from the bedroom with a door. Complementary breakfast was good and not just a continental breakfast buffet. Check in was easy while dealing with COVID. It sounded like the pool required reservations and time limits.

Cons:
Font lobby workers did not have uniforms and were just in a t-shirt. I don’t know if he was just jumping in due to the rush at the desk. The bathtub had some long hair when we first got in the room. Noises from the louder freeway traffic and people above can be heard. The air vents are a lot louder than normal but they do cool off the place fast.

Kudos to the breakfast server Andrea who had the best customer service skills and was smiling behind the mask.
