I only require a comfortable bed, a working bathroom and a clean room but was disappointed to find none of these at the Silver Spruce. This motel is super adorable and could be a retro gem. It has an excellent location too. The downside is it is the worst maintained, dirtiest, and most run down place I could imagine. I planned to stay here for an extended period of time because I’m working in Glenwood springs but canceled because I was having allergies from the dirty room. Originally I was given a double queen room. It was ok. It was a bit dirty and I saw a couple of bugs that i suspected were bedbugs but I didn’t want to overreact. They kept me there for a week and a few days. Then they moved me to the budget room because this was the room I had reserved and one had become available. It was very dirty. In addition plumbing was in desperate need of repair. The shower wasn’t draining, the toilet wasn’t working well (It required a practice flush because the flipper was worn out). The carpet was covered in dirty spots. The walls had dark streaks. The mattress was thin, uncomfortable and worn out. I also observed possible signs of bedbugs. The one night I managed to stay in that room was miserable. I even considered sleeping in my car.
I don’t usually write reviews unless I love a business and want to help. Especially local places but I wish I had seen more accurate reviews while searching for accommodations. Also I hope that the owners of the Silver Spruce take this into consideration and do some much needed maintenance on this property. The lady who helped me at the front desk was kind and understanding.

This is one of nicest, accomedating Inn I have ever stayed at. Got a ground floor room , which was wonderful because of my handicap. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The Breakfast was great, great waffles and more. It is in a very great location, I visited without a car.
