Much Better Than Reviewed

I was surprised by the hotel after reading recent reviews. I booked anyway for the access to the hot springs. The main complaint of previous reviewers was the hotel was dated. We found out the hotel was 1/2 thru renovations and our room was new and very nice. It had a fake fireplace that was not a listed amenity but very nice/welcome after a day of skiing and a soak in the hot springs. Really liked the pillows. The free breakfast is one of the best we have experienced (as a free breakfast). The downside is the restaurant, hot springs, and gym are across a small, little used street but the entrance is not (an exit is). Can be a chilly walk to entrance. With that said, I would rate this a 5 if they had a pantry in the hotel to purchase drinks, snacks, ice cream, etc.

Room Tip: A soak in these pools in a must experience. The hotel next door, Hotel Colorado is a must visit...

Staying at the lodge is not worth the price. You still have to go outside and walk to have breakfast and to swim. It's better off to stay at a (cheaper) separate accommodation and just buy the day pass.
Also, the heater in our room did not really work.

The Lodge itself was nice, the beds were comfy and everything was clean. Our biggest complaint was not having WiFi in our room. Seems like something basic in 2024, especially when paying $400 per night.

The pools are also amazing, we spent time in each of them and enjoyed all of the unique water features. The cold plunge was especially memorable. If I went again, however, I would probably stay somewhere cheaper and just buy a day pass to the pools.

The Grill gets our biggest complaint. We had our complimentary breakfast on the morning of our checkout. They were just sausage, egg muffins from McDonalds. Not terrible but again for the price I expected a bit more. What really ruined the experience, however, was the rude cashier who took our order. She seemed annoyed to be there even by 8am, and got even more irritated when she misunderstood our food order. We even heard her making comments to her coworkers as we walked away. I regret not confronting her directly.

This is an old and historic hotel. It is in much need of updating which is happening now. Unfortunately this means that some of the rooms are very shabby and furniture very worn. During our stay there was constant noise form the renovation - drilling hammering etc. We were given a discount after complaining but should have been advised of this work which would probably have led us elsewhere.

Having said that the ability to access the hot spring baths was great and very convenient. I feel sure the resort will be much better after the renovation next summer (2025).

Breakfast in the hot springs cafe was not great.

Staff at the hotel very friendly and helpful

Room tip: Wait until renovation is complete

Beautify designed.
Chris W was at the front desk. He was wonderful. He went above and beyond. His input was no bias and listened to what we wanted and catered to what we were looking not only for dinner but our entire experience. I loved the pools, I recommend reading
