Brand new remodel

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Nov 2024
The hotel was being updated (which is fine) their signs could have been a bit better guiding traffic to the main office, we parked and walked up. The front desk was outside due to the remodel & I felt like I was in Mexico, they greeted us with smiles, laughter, very energetic, happy and it was nice since we were on vacation/1 year anniversary. The rooms are re-modeled & are pretty. I do wish there was better lightening (us women like to see our faces as we put make-up on) the telephones in the rooms did not work, I wanted to add another pillow to the bed & I couldn't reach the front desk. There is a vending machine that does not accept quarters for payment & it was $3.00 for each item EXPENSIVE. The pool & hot tub were not open (which is fine, cuz we went to Iron Mountain) but they could have told me that when I booked this hotel.

Pretty nice, clean hotel. For some reason I didn't realize the rooms had outside doors and it consists of a few different sections. We had room 249 (top floor) in Elk Lodge, which has a king bed. The AC worked fine, the bathroom was huge, with lots of counter space. The bed was pretty comfortable and the sleep quality was good with very little road noise, although we do leave the fan on all night for white noise. Breakfast is in the main building, which requires a short walk. The breakfast was pretty average and what you'd expect. The employee that checked me out could have at least pretended cheerfulness, but other than her, the rest of the staff were courteous and friendly. Would stay again if in the area.

Jenn was a perfect hostess, the grounds were beautiful and offered so many activities, the location was great, and the rooms were good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Glenwood Springs. Good price for all the amenities.

Great location; clean and well-maintained; the fire pits, pool and hot tub are very nice; very friendly, professional and efficient staff; tasty breakfasts; convenient location to get to the various hot springs, downtown, etc. We had an excellent experience all the way around and will be back.

Room tip: Plan well in advance to make a reservation as Glenwood Springs is a very popular destination place.

The Best Western Antlers is totally adequate and budget friendly but you get what you pay for.

Pros
Located near hot springs and Caverns Adventure Park.
Beautiful property with lots of activities for kids including a playground, volleyball, pool, fire pits, and a tennis court (pickleball equipment available at the front desk).
Many cable channels.
Lots of ice and vending machines throughout.
Laundry facilities onsite.

Cons
Breakfast:
The dining room was small and overcrowded with nowhere to sit.
Either the waffle batter or makers are not right. Every time we made a waffle a section of it came out flat. I’ve never had that happen before.
The blueberry waffle dispenser was broken and would not dispense the batter.
The syrup was in community squeeze bottles that were low or totally empty creating great demand.
The only worker was harried and grumpy - they clearly need two people staffing breakfast.
Housekeeping:
Our room as not cleaned and when we called we were told they would try to send someone.
The towels were stained.
There was no toilet paper holder - strange.
No king size beds.

Room tip: Ample free parking Microwave and mini-fridge in room

We stayed for three nights, hotel was very clean, we did have a problem with bathroom window in room 252 that couldn't lock. It was our decision to wait to tell maintenance until we departed. It was a second floor window and we wedged hangers in the side so no one could open. The breakfast was okay, they seemed to have trouble keeping the food supplied, but it was still very good. The firepits and pickleball courts were fun and loved an evening in the hot tub. This would be a nice hotel for families, with plenty of on ground entertainment!
