Glenwood Springs is a tough hotel town. This is a good 3* hotel but with 4* rates. But we’ve stayed in many hotels here plus checked out others - and there just aren’t a lot of great choices. Everything is very expensive, way more than what they’re worth. The Glenwood Springs Lodge is most convenient & was really good at one time, but has steadily changed. We stayed in this comfort inn before it changed to a Choice property. It was better this time but definitely not worth $200+. Again, it’s a tough, expensive town for lodging. The room needed attention, but we did enjoy the balcony. Right across the parking lot is the Colorado river with benches & picnic tables. Breakfast was typical hotel fare. This hotel is also several miles from the downtown area with Pool, shoppes, activities & restaurants. On many trips we’ve driven the 20 miles to Rifle, CO & their Hampton Inn after enjoying glenwood springs pool. This works well especially when continuing to Moab the next day. Not sure we’ll stay here again.
