This is a classic hotel with furniture and surroundings to match. It is clean, quiet, well run by friendly people. The restaurant provides a fine menu and they have a hot tub for relaxation. Altogether a good place to enjoy Durango.

This was our first visit to Durango & the Strater Hotel was perfect! It’s location is perfect. The staff was so friendly & helpful. Our room was great. Belle Saloon was outstanding- good drinks, good food & great entertainment nightly. The Mahogany Grille had wonderful food. We ate breakfast there daily. If we ever return to Durango the Strater is the only hotel we will stay at.

Stayed here for one night. Great staff, expecially those that worked the front desk in the evening, very helpful. Room was small but cute and clean. Diamond Belle Saloon was great for dinner. Mahogany Grille for breakfast wasn't that good and very slow service but again nice staff. As expected in a old hotel, poor water pressure and very thin walls. Was awakened at 630am by the room next to us, they had the tv turned up high, coughing and smoking weed that we could smell through the bathroom vent. Loved the private hot tub that you can reserve. Would stay again, probably in a deluxe room.

The lobby looks like it is from the 1870s. The old key slots behind the counter are super cool. The lobby is amazing. The bar that is attached looks like an old cowboy bar which adds to the whole appeal. It’s really totallys cool.

Thank you for your review! Yes, the attached bar you speak of is the Diamond Belle Saloon! The Belle serves a wide variety of delicious foods, handcrafted mixed drinks and live music seven nights a week. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

My wife and I stayed at the Strater and loved it. The hotel was built in 1887 and is in great condition. It's clean, beautiful, has great wi-fi, great restaurants, and is in a fantastic downtown location. I recommend this hotel whole-heartedly to anyone.

Parking is very easy in adjacent lots. The hotel serves breakfast, and we ate dinner there as well. Coffee and tea are available in hallways until 10am - very handy.

Construction is most definitely pre-ADA, but there is a lift to get large bags to your room without using the stairs.

Lots of nearby places to eat, drink, and shop.
