My husband and I and 2 relatives stayed at this hotel from 9/12 - 9/14/20. We reserved 3 rooms. The mountain view room my husband and I requested wasn't ready when we arrived late afternoon. Relative 1's room was ready, and then somehow a mountain-view room was ready w/in 2 minutes of our arrival (once we got in our room, it seemed no one had actually stayed in the room in a very long time). Relative 2 arrived that evening.
There were many, many issues.
There was only 1 person at check-in every time we were in the lobby, so that individual was taking care of all of the guests, answering the phone, checking in/out, etc.
In our room, the wallpaper on 1 wall in the bathroom had been replaced. There was wallpaper paste on the wall and the wall/ceiling hadn't been trimmed out. If we had seen that before unpacking, we would have switched rooms.
The desk chair and carpet were stained in our room.
They advertise breakfast in Flatz from 6 a.m. - 10 a.m. on a wall in between the elevators on our floor, but it's Starbucks that's open, not Flatz. Relative 2's rate included breakfast. When he saw Flatz was closed for breakfast, the person at the front desk gave him coupons to Starbucks. The website shows Grab and Go breakfast from the restaurant.

My husband and I were out of the room almost the entire day our 1st full day there. We returned to the room at 3:30 and the room hadn't been cleaned. I called the front desk and was told they clean the room every 4th day. We were not told that when we checked in. I asked for clean towels. They brought up 2 bath towels and 1 wash cloth and didn't remove dirty towels.
I had to go to the front desk asking for more bath towels, bath mat and hand towels. There were 3 parties in line in front of me. The couple at the check-in desk had checked in the day before, same day as us. They were being told clean every 4th day. The couple asked for clean towels and more shampoo and conditioner and that dirty towels be removed. That couple hadn't been told about 4th day cleaning upon check-in either. The 2 other parties were checking in and were told about the 4th day cleaning and only Starbucks was open for breakfast. If you checked in on Saturday, 9/12/20, you weren't told about 4th day cleaning or only Starbucks was open for breakfast.
The day we were checking out, housekeeping just opened our door. No knock, no announcement of housekeeping, nothing. She had seen my husband walk in the room a few minutes earlier.
The maintenance guy was delivering towels also. A very-short staffed hotel in every department.
We've been going to Boulder for 20 years and more than likely stay at the Renaissance. The last 2-3 years it's been going downhill. Now it's to the point we won't return. We'll stay at the brand new Homewood Suites next door when it opens.
Yes, we know traveling during the pandemic isn't idea, but this was a necessity.
This hotel should not have the Renaissance flag.More
