The tree house (1L) was excellent. Clean and spacious for 2 people with plenty of privacy and excellent short walks just outside the door. We decided to take the yarts (yarts.com) bus into Yosemite valley and use the free shuttle once there to avoid the parking crush which was a good move as all car parks were packed. Not sure if this improves outside the school holidays. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Excellent accommodation and even better when we worked out the lighting! Could not fault the facilities except we never did get the TV to work.
BBQ worked perfectly but the mosquitoes can be a bit insistent to eat outside. There was a feeling of peace and tranquillity on this quiet spur of the campground but we had a thrill when walking to the river when we nearly stepped on a 3 foot long diamond back rattler - that certainly concentrates the mind!!
The cabin (a house) was first class - newly updated, perfectly maintained, Granite, Slate... No Air Conditioning, though. It is rarely needed there, and we did not need it. We made sure we scheduled our vacation when school was in session & the weather was likely to be good. Otherwise, Yosemite can be very crowded. You will have to book this well in advance, I think. The only thing I would change would be to check out restaurants so that we ate out more. We planned & prepared to cook all of our meals there, and we did. That made it less relaxing for me/us - more time spent cooking & cleaning up.
Great, remote, beautiful, relaxing vacation!!
The Redwoods in Yosemite is the best dog-friendly property in the park, and this unit in particular is so delightful I wish I could've afford to buy it! Beautiful little place, thoroughly modern small kitchen, lovely deck overlooking seasonal creek. Comfortable and conveniently located. Great management team. Made our stay a real pleasure. To my way of thinking, the Wawona area (RIY is right behind historic Wawona Hotel) is the only place to go if you have the family dog with you.
