We are locals and HAD to stay here during a mandatory fire evacuation in the area because we needed to be close to our re-build (critical point in construction) and they were 'dog friendly' if you paid a fee.
We knew it wasn't going to be great (this hotel has not had a rep for being amazing for a long time) but were SHOCKED at how dirty the room was during COVID-19 and disappointed with how surly the staff was.
The desk in our room was covered with smudges, etc., but luckily I was traveling with wipes, so I could get that prepped for our daughter (distance learning).
Everything was dingy and needed re-decorating, updating, and a good scrubbing.
We had a 'patio suite' which was one room with a slider to a very small fenced patio area that had the feel of a penitentiary. I could see that the pool area was super crowded with guests and their children...again, COVID-19 much?
We also may have left a tote with belongings in our room after checkout (fire evacuations are stressful) and I've called several times to try to get housekeeping to respond to my inquiry but nope...no one has called back. So...I'm pretty sure my answer is that if I did leave something there, it's long gone.
It's SUCH a drag that this hotel is so poorly run since the location is nice (walking distance to Montgomery Village with shopping and dining).
We had stayed at two other hotels during this protracted (2-week) mandatory evacuation (E Hotel in Santa Rosa and The Lodge At Sonoma) and both were FAR SUPERIOR to this dump.
We will (hopefully) never have to stay here again!
