We stayed here on a visit to Napa and found it to be a little off the beaten path; however, we rented a car so it was not an issue. It is definitely not within walking distance to all of the fabulous wineries, shopping, and dining areas but a quick care ride away. The room was huge and had a working fireplace. The property sits on a beautiful vineyard. The service was outstanding and the John Ash restaurant was outstanding. We also enjoyed a gourmet breakfast each morning which was the highlight of the day. This is definitely a great place for couples to stay.

Conveniently located just off US 101, Vintners Inn is an oasis in Santa Rosa. Even though you are just off a major highway, you are in the middle of a vineyard. Just a couple of steps from the room is a vineyard with a convenient walking/jogging path among the vines. The room was large with a private patio. There are several eating options onsite (for reviews of their dinner restaurant check out John Ash & Co.). Also onsite is a bocce court. Spa services are offered through the inn for those wanting a massage.

We got here last night hoping for a massage the next morning in the spa - but no spa. You need to give the hotel 24 hours notice in order to get an in room massage, obviously we were not going to get a massage. The gym also is not what one would hope for.

The grounds are very pretty, the staff is helpful and the room is spacious and well appointed (the shower was excellent). The hotel failed, however on the most important aspect - the bed. The bed was super soft and literally had craters in it. It was impossible for me to sleep (especially after my wife found the only somewhat comfortable crater in the middles of the bed. I finally fell into a light sleep around 5am, which does not bode well for today.

I was about to close this review by saying the bed is an easy fix so I wouldn't discount this hotel for future use, but my wife, at that very moment, called me over to the bathroom sink and showed me the paper cover to the glasses that we used last night, there was a squished spider inside the lid; the cleaner obviously reused an old lid. I should lower the score to 1 star for that, but will leave it as is.

The room was very large, with a lovely fireplace. All was immaculately clean for our stay. The front desk was very accomodating. Room service for dinner from John Ashe&Co was prompt and delivered at the proper temperature--which it should have been for the cost, but worth it not to have to go out after driving all day.
