The patio view is absolutely amazing. The area is not noisy so you have the tranquility of the redwoods all to yourself. There is a hot tub jacuzzi next to the patio so that was a huge bonus — able to enjoy the beautiful golden sunset as well as the afternoon breeze. The kitchen was fully equipped and the complimentary breakfast was extremely convenient (orange juice, case of eggs, muffins and bread).
Downside: there were notes all of the home such as do not do this or do this. Didn’t make it feel welcoming. There was a sign requesting us to do dishes and take out the trash despite paying $150 cleaning fee. The house is outdated. From the green carpet (has the old house smell) to the beddings to the old tube TVs to the sliding panels (there are no real bedroom/bathroom doors). Bathrooms are very, very small; 2 people cannot pass through. Don’t count on the AC during the warmer season either.
My family had a wonderful stay in this home! We appreciated it's very unique style of architecture inside and out, and were very comfortable. We enjoyed it's spectacular deck, and fireplace, and the beds and bathrooms were great. Valley View is also in a beautiful location, ten minutes away from downtown Santa Cruz, gorgeous beaches, Redwood Forests and Mount Hermon Adventures. Highly recommended if you are interested in exploring this area.
Lovely quiet home nestled in the woods with all the amenities. Close to Santa Cruz Boardwalk and local shopping. Easy commute to Monterey and Carmel.
Our eight-day stay at Valley View was wonderful. It is a very well appointed home, which proved very comfortable for four adults. The decking area, compete with hot tub, and set amidst a Redwood forest valley was perfect for relaxing mornings, al fresco breakfasts and lunches, and is secluded. Sounds of birds in the trees and occasional visits from young deer completed a quite surreal atmosphere in this unique home designed by Frank Loyd Wright. The house is not isolated however and provides very easy access to local facilities and is ideally situated for exploring Northern California.
